BEAUTIFUL DAY IN DELACROIX

The wind felt like it was blowing but the further out i went the calmer the wind got.
Had TERESA,TEDOS,and SILLY on the boat today.Hit my spot and the sailcats were biting .Changed to a lighter weight on the line and it was ON.Had trout coming in 2 and 3 at a time. At 8:30am we had 90 in the boat.
All fish were caught on a sliding sinker on live shrimp.

Ran 2 trips today.

1- left at 4:45am with Richard,Bob,and Bill.Had to make 3 stops to catch 63 trout today.Had bad luck today with the live shrimp,lost at least 100 shrimp today for some reason.We were on a good trout bite and ran out of live shrimp.back at the dock for 10:30am.

2- Left at 12:30pm with Chris and Jerry.Ran to one of my inside spots because they wanted to stay close.We put 31 trout and 2 reds and 1 drum in the boat.They were happy to get out today as they are metal roof installers from up north in Michigan.

EASY EASY 50 TROUT FOR 7AM

Fished with my regular client Mr. Jim from Covington.Made a quick run to my spot and it was on from the first cast.At 7am we had our 2 man limit(50) of specks.It was a trout on almost EVERY CAST, with a couple of reds in between.Made a couple of stops on the way in and played CATCH AND RELEASE on about 30 more trout.
A beautiful day on the water.All fish were caught on 3/8oz sliding sinker.

Had Nicky,his young son Patrick and granpaw Nicky on the bosat today.Made one stop and put 85 in the boat for 8:15am.
All fish were caught on 3/8oz sliding sinker on live shrimp.
Catching is on full force ,weather permitting.Some fish still on the inside marsh.

WINDY DAYS =PLENTY OF ACTION

The wind was blowing 15-20mph out of the ENE this morning when i got up.Teresa wanted to go fishing before she left to go to Florida.We made a couple of stops and found some nice TROUT and a real nice REDS and DRUM hole.We caught a released an additional 15 DRUM before calling it a day with the wind.The water was coming in and the water was not that great but the fish did not seem to mind today.IOt was a very enjoyable day on the water.
All fish were caught on live shrimp.

Fishing is still good even in the wind.

Had Teresa and Sue on board today.We made 3 stops and got on the trout but plenty of small ones mixed in.We had 60 in the box for 10am and they called it a day.All fish were caught on live shrimp on sliding sinker with a 3/8 oz sinker.

RAN 2 TRIPS TODAY

1-Had Mr. Pete,Earl and Myron on the boat to day again.Had a real good trip before they headed back to Alexandria.We had 85 trout in the boat for 10:30am.

2- Got a call from a couple visiting from Denver and they wanted to experience the Louisiana marsh.They met me at the dock for 1:30pm and on the second cast Warren caught a 20lb red the first he had ever caught and that is what he wanted to catch on this trip.They were not worried on how many to keep but enough to take home and eat.Warren and Mary were fun and they are coming back in november.Kept 25 trout.

LOW MUDDY WATER

We had to run around to find some cleanish water but when we did we found the trout.We left at 7am to let the chill get out of the morning air.Mr .Pete and Mr. Earl were on the boat today.We found low muddy water almost everywhere we went.We ended the day with a nice box of fish.

NO RAIN IN DELACROIX AGAIN,JUST PLENTY OF TROUT


Looked at the radar at 4:30 am and saw no rain,called Teresa and Sue and told them to be there at 6am.Made a run to a bay and the tide was falling.We stayed there until the front came through at 10am.The trout were nice today and we called it a day when the wind shifted to 15-20 out of the NW.
The temp dropped about 15 degrees behind this front.We are in MAY right?All fish were caught on live shrimp.
Hope this front does not mess things up.

TRIP CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE RAIN

BUT IT NEVER RAINED....

Checked the radar and saw nothing made a couple a calls ,no one wanted to go.Left around 10am and checked a few places out and put 25 trout in the boat without a drop of rain.

LITTLE FISH DAY

Could not get away from the little trout today.Had Johhn and his sons on board today.The tide did not fall in the am like it did yesterday.We caught the good fish on the falling tide and a hundred little fish today on the incoming tide.

RAIN- WHAT RAIN????

As usual a bad forecast turned into a good fishing trip.
Avery brought his friends fishing before the rains began (but it never rained).We left around 6:15am and it was a very pleasant day to fish and with a bunch of great guys to fish with.We had 50 trout and 16 drum in the boat for 10:30am.We decided to call it a day based on the rain that was forecasted.
We had a slight falling tide in the early am then it switched.
All fish were caught on live shrimp and some drum were caught on dead bait.A great day and alot of fun on the boat.
