Venice Reds and Trout!!!
Mark Meaux and crew came in for three days of fishing down on the delta. There days were highlighted with limits of reds and solid catches of big Venice trout. Capt. Kasye Bourn and Capt. We had Dan Gellar's group in from all parts of the country for 3 days of fishing down on the Mississippi River Delta. Art Holbrooke's Party
I had Mr. Art and his two friends Fay and Jim onboard for two days of fishing down in Venice. The winds blew but the reds were hungry and biting like bulldogs down on the delta. Day 1 was a limit of nice eating reds followed by many catches and releases. Day 2 was a limit of bigger reds along with a few trout. The winds have howled most of the spring but hopefully will be giving way to better weather shortly as summer approaches. Venice Redfishing on FIRE!!!
I fished JD Delebaugh's Crew a few weeks back. We only got in the first day of there trip due to bad weather but found the reds hungry downriver quickly getting their limit then playing catch and release for the rest of the day. Darrell Jones Party!!!
Mr. Darrell Jones got a crew together from Livingston to come down to Venice to get in on some of the hot winter fishing. Capt. Dennis Bardwell hit the water with his group and found the reds lined up ready to be caught. After watching from our boat with little action we moved just a bit and found our groove catching a few nice trout along with plenty reds many of which were oversized which we released. We had a group in from Arkansas to fish with us for a few days and boy did they hit the jackpot. After a cancelled day due to high winds these guys arrived to great weather combined with red hot fishing. Lots of trout, reds and a few flounder were caught by all three boats. Venice Reds and Specks!!!
I fished yesterday with Jeff Lindberg and his good buddy Buck in from northern California. These guys are regulars with us twice a year. We headed out to try to beat the weather. We hit our first spot and caught a nice mess of trout. Left there and headed further downriver and got on a good bite for reds and then the rain hit. Kinda went downhill from there but we were happy to have a nice box of fish. The boat ride back up the river was interesting to say the least. Capt. Red Hot Venice Fishing!!!
I fished over the weekend with Mike Klein and his buddy Ed. These guys came in from the Dallas/Fortworth area. The fishing has been on fire down in Venice in the river and this weekend was not an exception. Mike and Ed worked on reds, specks and a few flounder each day.
