About Us
Our doors officially opened August 1, 2007! Our sports shop, located in Pearl River, Louisiana, offers exciting features such as a Technohunt indoor range, a large selection of bows and hunting supplies, archery leagues and more! Visit us today!
We invite you to come and experience our down home, personal, and family environment. We are an archery pro shop and all around hunting and fishing store. Our goal has been to build an archery and hunting shop that is not only a great local source for quality gear, but a place that draws you to just come and hang out and get to know all of the hunters and shooters that have already become part of the family.
Our vision is to have a store with a positive attitude that offers fun things to do in the way of archery, and that’s shooting!
We brought in a Techno Hunt interactive archery system which simulates live shooting environments for some of the most realistic hunting practice you can find. We also have a full 22 plus yard indoor air-conditioned field point shooting range so you get out of the hot Louisiana heat and practice.
In an effort to make archery more fun and interesting and to grow the sport, we also hold frequent local Techno Hunt, spot, and 3D tournaments. In short, we strive to be the best, friendliest and most accommodating archery and hunting shop around. We’re sure you’ll see why our customers enjoy the shop if you spend a little time with us! We even have a table and chairs where customers frequently sit, share hunting stories, or watch the Techno Hunt results or hunting videos on the big screen TV.
Louisiana Outdoors is proud to offer you one of the nicest archery, hunting and fishing shops in the area and we would be honored if you’d stop by and spend some time with us!
Take care and God Bless, Brad, Marnie, Jake, and Brennan .

The biggest rack I've ever seen!
A fella brought that BIG rack killed at Giles Island this year by Louisiana Outdoors to show us. I admit, the picture is a good one, but this thing is one MEAN looking rack! Just holding it was nice! He said they'd have it at the Sportsman's show this weekend. www.louisiana-outdoors.com

Video two coyotes taking down a doe!
My trail camera on a farm in Iowa actually caught this wild footage. I know, I'd think it was staged too, but I assure you, this is unfenced, untamed animals and a camera that happened to be in the right place at the right time. I'll never think of Coyote's the same way again!

Looks like 35 Whelen is legal!
I've heard rumor's but I just got word from a LDWF agent that it appears to be true. It appears that the 35 caliber or larger breech loaded.... is legal this year. I'm going to simply post the contents of the news release below, and by the way, I have one distributor that has several of the CVA's in stock. They range from $290 to $357 depending on the model. Let me know if I can help you! Brad at Louisiana Outdoors. 985-863-5263 Here's the copy of the news release: ' Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries News
Act 68 Allows Breech Loading Rifles of .35 or Larger Caliber to Be Used During Primitive Firearm Deer Season
May 29, 2012 -- Act 68 of the 2012 Louisiana Legislative Regular Session, signed by Governor Bobby Jindal, allows breech loading rifles of .35 or larger caliber to be used during the primitive firearm deer season.
The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission, recently approved a list of primitive firearm calibers, smaller than .38, that would be legal for deer hunting in the state beginning with the 2012-13 hunting season. That specific list of primitive firearm calibers is no longer needed since the .35 caliber or larger designation includes the calibers the Commission had approved.
The new definition of a legal firearm for the primitive firearm season will now include: single shot, breech loading rifles, .35 caliber or larger, having an exposed hammer that uses metallic cartridges loaded either with black powder or modern, smokeless powder.'

Trail Camera Tests??
Any of you guys ever did a test with trail cameras and compared different brands? I hung six cameras side by side and was quite surprised at the difference in results. I listed the results in my latest column article on here.
