WE had good weather the first part of the week and were able to get out to the trout and they were there and willing. I wish the weather would stabilize so we can get in a good run on the trout .

Hopedale Report 2-15-13
John Ledoux and son’s made the trip to Hopedale from Mobile AL on Friday for a day of fishing with his boy’s. The weather was perfect the first time in a week sunshine and light winds. Things started out slow just a few fish water temp was in low 50’s. Around 11 am we got on a good trout bite nice fish taking plastics under corks water temp was up the 59. Made a few drifts in this one area putting ga few trout ion the box on each pass adding up to 45 nice trout and 1 barely legal redfish before calling it a day. Great day on the water

Second Split opens saturday!
Cold front blowing in today and cold up north should bring down the ducks for the second split opener. I have some openings left for the rest of the season if you want to get in on a hunt give me a call.

First Split Report
The first split of duck season went pretty good not what we are used to but that’s hunting. Warm weather and the after affects from Hurricane Isacc definetly had a negative impact. But with that said we got out and hunted. Hunting smart hiding well and hunting late allowed us to make successful hunts. We averaged 3.9 ducks per hunter per effort the first split which was not bad 8 to 10 birds per hunt. The second split should prove better with colder weather bring more ducks to the marsh.

Hopedale report
The fishing is on speckle dtrout catches are sloid with some reds and drum too. The last couple of weeks have been gret and should stay good or better. still fishing shallow undera cork with Campo live shrimp. Duck hunting too birs are spreda out but I have been doing pretty good in the mornings.

Duck hunting
Sesaon off to slow start but I have been having sucessful hunts not limits but good hunts and lots of fun. Cold weather is what we ned to bring in some more birds. Ran some Blast and cast combo trips this past weekend and caught good numbers of speckled trout and some solid hunts too. Not a lot of birds but hunting smart and making the shots count. I have couple of days left open this first split and several in the second which should be better hunting.

Late Report
Fished last thursady and friday and did really good with the trout and some redfsih mixed in. Trout are on the inside live shrimp and plastic under corks was doing the damage. Great time of year to be out fiahing and hunting gotta love Louisiana.

Opening weekend
Hunted opening weekend with my Daughter Sarah son Daniel and his frienfd Stewart.Opening mornig was a little slow 6 ducks but two were drake pintails that was nice. Sunday did a lot better in a different area 13 ducks mostly greys witha a few teal and a mottled. Great time though with the kids we also made a n afternoon fish on Saturday catching some trout for dinner. Great weekend. Hope these cold fronts bring in some more ducks for this weekend

Fall Fishing
Al Mancuso and friends Put a smack down on the speckled trout yesterday in Hopedale LA. After several times something always’ got in the way of this group making a fishing trip things finally came together. Great weather and great day fishing with a full limit of specks.
Fall fishing is wide open and duck season is about to open Louisiana the Sportsman Paradise. Time for Blast and Cast Hunt ducks in Am and Fish in the PM. I still have some open dates for November and December

Cold front Trout
Cold front blew in yesterday with stiff NW winds but that did not deter Walter and Dave from keeping their fishing trip planned as scheduled. I was a little worried about the winds but was willing to go and see what we could do. Good thing because it turned into a great trip. The winds were stiff but the weather cool and sunny had the trout turned on. Finished up with 60 trout 1 red and some drums. The trout and reds have moved into the marshes for the fall and the fishing will only get better as the weather gets cooler.
It won’t be long and those ducks should start showing up too. Ready for some BLAST and CAST trips Ducks in the AM and fish in the PM. Give me call and get on the books !

Great Day on the water
Ragsdale father and son’s crew in Hopedale from Georgia looking to catch some speckled trout. The last few times they have come fishing the wind as howling so we caught reds and drums few trout. Yesterday things lined up for them with some really nice weather and the filed the table up with speckled trout along with a few drums and reds too. Great trip with great guy’s and a great trip.
