Public Resource in response to a report titled: Big Lake Trout Limits

The general public/weekend warrior is not the cause for the decline in trout numbers on Big Lake. The constant battering on a daily basis from to many guide boats is the problem. The guides have put so much pressure on this fishery that they now fear for their jobs and now want to reduce limits to try and preserve the income they make off this public resource. If the limit is reduced to 10 fish the guides have stated that they will catch and release fish once limit is reached. How many of these fish will survive after being released? I know the guides catch more than their fair share of this resource and now want to punish the rest of us because of their greed. I also feel the journalist that are invited to fish with these guides for FREE are not going write an article stating that the guides are the problem. The journalist is not going to bite the hand that feeds them. I feel that a stiff tax should be put on the guides for taking more than their fair share and depleting my resource.
