Two of the nicer fish today we caught another full limit marsh fishing is hotter than ever

Me and Son made another trip today out of Berwick which was the third one in two weeks. This is the hottest fishing we've been on in a while. Three trips and three limits all on suspending jerk baits.

One of the fish I caught this morning. Had six nice fish in the boat by 10:00. This one the biggest was 4 pounds even. All of them were caught on a red and black sinko in Bayou Teche on the Berwick end.

Have been fishing the past few months between the spillway and lake Verett. The trips have been mixed and Im thinking about trying the wax lake side. Was wondering if anyone has been fishing the wax lake area. Not looking for any secret spots just wondering if anyone is picking up any bass and a General area where to start looking.

Took my son on a fishing trip in the spillway yesterday. Overall it was just a good day spent time with my son and was on the water what more could you want. We left Russo's landing at 10 a.m. And heading to little bayou sorrel. Now the water is still very low but I found that water was fairly clear near the surface. We ran down to the Logan Canal and the big Fork Bayou and began fishing any dead end canal we could find. We were throwing June Bug Brush Hogs at the edge of the lilies and grass mats along with any bush that was left in the water that wasn't high and dry. There is still a lot of the area that socked in with the lilies but I did notice that some of it is starting to turn brown so maybe all this cold weather is helping. The fishing was very slow and we managed to land four fish in the boat of which two of those were keepers. The fish seemed to be running in two different packs this day. The one's we landed in the boat hit the bush hogs like they meant business but we had several other bump that you would get one hit and that was it. Now on the two fish caught one was 14 inches and the other fish the nicest was 18 inches and probably weight around 3 ½ pounds to 4 pounds.

I get my parish boat launch sticker from the Berwick Landfill the phone number for the landfill is 985-385-4531. I think the cost is around $ 25.00 a year and can be renewed through the mail. The sticker is good for any St. Mary Parish boat launches. I think there all well over 20 launches throughout the parish. I know the Berwick landing for the Wax Lake area, Rousso Landing in Morgan City for the Spillway and Bayou Teche Landing near the Patterson High School are all Parish landings I launch from. There is also a Parish landing in Amelia I don't know the name is for the Turtle Bayou area and Gibson along with the Lake Palourde Side.

The parish has a boat launch out by Patterson High School if you have the parish launch sticker you can launch any time. I fish a lot so every year I get the parish launch sticker.

The two sisters landing is a nice landing but its a private landing. Its a three dollar launch fee but it puts you right at the Bayou Vista / Berwick line. Most of the fish I caught including the bass in the photo have all been holding really shallow in thick cover. They were biting on drop shot rigs about a month ago with a plastic swim bait style lure but since then I've had real good luck with the sinko style baits. I'm finding the bite has been better in the mornings as well. Good fishing everyone and uncle George you going to have to come in the boat with me one day.
