My son shot this 7-point, 190 pound buck near Woodville, MS just across the state line on Wednesday morning 1/5 at about 0830. This was a REALLY nice first deer and all his friends that have been hunting much longer are confirming that to him! He was some kind of excited and we just wanted to post it here and share.
why don't manufacturers make the shrimp baits correctly? all the live shrimp (and crawfish) I've ever seen in action, swim backward. most of the baits are made to resemble them swimming forward or head first.
it's hard to tell since the pics are at night and shadows might be involved but the rack does look basically the same in both pics. Only difference is the left side in one, no brow tine but I think the other point on the left antler is just liked up with the rest of it in the lower pic.
but the first few times I looked at it, it looked like the head/neck of the second deer was in front of the doe's right hind leg but behind the left hind leg.
I don't see any other legs. looks like she's birthing a fawn to me too.
I'm wanting to take my wife out for some bream and sacs but in looking for Bay Alcide I'm not having much luck. I see Bayou Alcide that empties into the north end of the lake. Is that it, where it widens out? Do you suggest putting in at Corne off Hwy 70 and working down to there? Thanks!
most water snakes and some that are common in sandy areas have what are called 'keeled' scales. they help them on water the same way the longitudinal ridges help on a boat hull. that snake's scales are smooth.
