I have not fished the Lake Decade Dularge area in about 2 yrs. I'm headed there this weekend with my eleven year old son in pursuit of fish. Bass, Specs, Red Fish or Perch it doesn't matter. Just looking to make some memories. We have a small boat 17ft fish n ski. Can anyone give me any spots were I should try? Does Liners Canal still connect from Lake Decade to Lake Pension? Any help would be appreciated.

Just put in a new pit blind and Im wondering, if I use hay as a ground cover around the blind, would this be considered baiting by Wild Life agents? Any info will help!

November 02, 2007 at 5:43pm

Went and pumped the pit blind today. When I got to the bottom, I notice a hole the size of a Nickel, and water trickling in. WHAT DO I DO????? Any suggestions. Can this be fixed, or am I doomed to purchase a new blind.

Does anyone know when the season starts for the FURVILESS PURPLE HEADED SPITTER? With all this warm weather they should be poking there little heads out. As you well know the cold tends to make them withdraw into hiding and with the recent artic blasts I havent seen one lately.

She enjoyed the food at the lodge as much as the hunt...If she only knew the hardships of real hunting!! The problem I have now is she thinks huntins easy. When I go and dont kill any she rubs it in.

Im with kiladaux...This he he he stuff is a bad choice widow...You should try ha...If this man wants to hunt meat let him, I think its funny to watch how childish he is about it...On the other hand, if i had a child reading these post written by widow I would be very upset...He has a different outlook on the art of being a sportsman...I dont think he has a job either.

the company went bankrupt...and they had a bunch of stands that are considered not safe...the back plates can bend causing you to fall...if you have a plate that is stamped with 1903 or 2103 you are not to use it....whats the deal with this.

I took my pup this morning in the woods behind my house in Walker, and planted a Quail, just to let him hunt it up. To my amazement we flushed 5 to 6 woodcock. I think one of the flushed birds was the same bird. This is a new house and my first woodcock season on the property. The next time I will have a shotgun on me. Good Luck to all and Merry Christmas.

Smiling-Mallard, I hunt the blind across the mud road from you. Second levee on the right. Saturday the count was eleven geese and 6 ducks. Sunday the count was two geese and twentyone ducks. Monday we did okay, and actually had a few groups of mallards.

I had an older brit last year, and he wouldn't point all the time real well. He would get real birdy, and you just had to be ready, if for some chance it was a bird in the area. The first time I took him he did just that. He got real birdy, and bam three birds. I got two wich was amazing considering the crap was scared out of me. On the same day he got birdy again, and a single flew right at me, I shot it. Pretty good huh. Then later I found out they had a Field Trial the day before, thats when you go, cause they will plant a bunch of birds. The birds left over you can hunt. Yesterday I knew it was no field trial day. I just wanted to get my pup out and run.

Didn't find any, but had a good time with the young dog. Speaking of young dog, has anyone ever had a dog point Box Turtles. I know it sounds weird, but my pup for some crazy reason pointed three times today, and I mean locked up hard on three different Turtles. Is that just weird are what.
