Back 15 years ago I owned a couple of maps with the VHS tape for Kinsey's Flying Services of Toledo Bend-North and South. I have moved houses 3 times and can't get my hands on the map with GPS coordinates. The company is out of business and I would like a copy of the GPS Coordinates. Please PM me if you have a copy to share.

Has anyone every fished Flint Creek in Wiggins, MS? Any reports on the bass fishing? Cabins? What's the lake like-trees, deep water, etc..? This may be our summer vacation, since it doesn't look promising for the Gulf Coast vacation!

Left Denham Springs headed to Tickfaw River, took Hwy 63 to Hwy 444, found Pete's Landing and decided to stop there. The launch is nice and Pete gave me a map and some pointers, just a pity the fish didn't want to cooperate. The water is stained to clear South of Bayou Barbay, and kinda murky North of the Bayou. Did more sightseeing than fishing, only had a few bites, landing one choupique. FYI, Pete's Landing holds a Tuesday evening tournament, from 5 til dark, $35 per boat. Pete said this past week, the winners had 4 fish go 8.5#.

Good Fishing!

Planning on going to Toledo Bend the weekend of June 11-13 and Big Bass Marina's cabins are booked. Anyone know of a decent place to rent that weekend?

Thanks in advance!

I would like to fish a casual bass tournament, not one that is for big bucks, like a charity tournament. Does anyone know of any upcoming tournaments?

I am planning on taking my first trip over to Okhissa Lake this Saturday and want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row. Is the LA registration on my boat sufficient? Directions to lake from Denham Springs, should be I-12 to I-55, then head North to ??? Can I purchase a Non-Resident fishing license online? or is there somewhere to purchase one between Denham Springs and the lake? Do you launch at the North or South launch? Any tips on lures and/or areas, tried that worked or did not work?

Thanks for the help in advance!

My 1997 Motorguide Gator TM died on yesterday's fishing trip. Any comments on the reliability of the new models of Motorguide or Minn Kota? I had a 50# / 24V MG on my 18.5' Express, so will go with at least a 50# or stronger. Thanks!

My son really likes to fish, actually catch fish, so I tried to catch some bream yesterday. Local neighbor pond has lots of bream but we continued to feed them crickets while only catching about 1 out of 10 bites. We used a small #4 hook with a fairly long shank, a small crimp on lead and a small bobber on ultra light spinning reels. Is there a better setup than this to not miss so many bream?

I am looking for the 'Kinsey's Flying Service Map of the North and South Toledo Bend'. There are about 15 GPS spots on each map.

To get to Pete's Landing from I-12, take Exit 22-Livingston/Frost, Hwy 63, go South for 9 miles, turn left/East on Hwy 444 for 3.4 miles, it's on the right. I've never heard of Fred's Landing, sorry.

A comment titled: Tough day of fishing! in response to a report titled: Okhissa Lake info, tips, etc...

Spent Saturday from 7:30-3:00 on the lake with only one 16" bass and two bream in the boat. Everyone I spoke was having the same results. People fishing with crickets, worms, and shiners were struggling to but a few fish in the boat. There are bass on beds every where by the South Launch end of the lake. I saw bass from one to seven pounds sitting on the beds, not my thing to fish them, but we did try a few without success. The lake is beautiful, looks like you would get a bite on nearly every cast. There is some areas with almost too much cover, not many fish could be pulled out without some serious braided line. Any day fishing is better than a day not fishing, so it was a good trip! Thanks for everyone's help, online and emails!

I will take the North Launch and hope they are done spawning after the last full moon, my lil man wants to catch some fish so I hope he catches 50 in the slot. I always let them swim to live another day and make someone else's day! I do love dem SacALait', they will die if they bite my line!

Thanks again and wish me luck!

Please forgive my ignorance, I moved out of state for the last 10 years and I have never heard of "Lacasinne Pool"? Where is it? Can anyone fish it? Thanks for the info!

A comment titled: Love them spinnerbaits! in response to a report titled: Spinnerbaits

That is my "confidence bait" for finding the bass. My favorite is a Hart 3/8th oz with a white head and white skirt and a single gold willow leaf. As the others have stated, the chart/white skirt will trigger more bites than the white in different waters. I don't lose many fish with the spinners, no more than any other baits I fish, you just have to have confidence in the bait your fishing and keep it in the water!

Good luck!

Google Toledo Bend Guide Service or Noe Garcia. I've talked to Noe and he says they normally catch 40-50 per trip off the tops. If I were you, I would travel to Sam Rayburn and hire Roger Bacon Guide service. You will limit out, 25 per person, he provides the gear, bait, deck hand, pontoon boat, and hundreds of fish will be caught in deep water. It is an awesome trip.
Good Luck!

A comment titled: Big rice field lake!!! in response to a report titled: Any help

It is shallow, as stated before, 3-4' deep everywhere. Not many stumps, lots of trees, duck blinds, buck brush, camps, is hard to believe that lake produces as many big bass as it does. The last tournaments held there the past few weekends had awesome results, an 8# plus for big bass last weekend. Good Luck!!!

I tried to fish 2 o'clock bayou and Grimitte Canal this past weekend. 2 O'clock is getting choked up with duckweed just past the 1st train crossing, only caught a couple of chopiques. Went to Grimette Canal, very low and muddy, didn't catch a fish. Let me know if you find them anywhere around that area, I really like those spots. Good Luck!!!

A comment titled: Black spots in response to a report titled: Explain please

We caught a 4.5# female in our pond 2 weeks ago that had the black dot/spot on the top part of her tail like the picture you took. She was extremely healthy, thick, and full of eggs. One other smaller bass in the same lake had the spots on the mouth. It was quite healthy looking as well.

A comment titled: Local fishing in BR in response to a report titled: fishing near BR

I just moved to Denham Springs and have been scouring the Google Maps to find a local fishing hole myself. I drive by the Wanetiri Lakes, called them up, but I haven't been, yet. The cost is $6 per person and $5 to launch for all day fishing on the 37 acre lake. I will be trying it out soon. Here is the website.

If someone has been before, please give a report.
