I took my 7 year old grandson on a Thanksgiving hunting trip. Last year at Thanksgiving he took his first shot at a deer ever, at 6 years old he killed nice 8 pt 181 lbs. His goal this year was another big buck or big doe would be great! After being rained out on the first evening hunt we went to a food plot the next morning. 8:30 a deer came out broad side at 100 yards, good bodied deer. He shot the deer and dropped in its tracks. Surprised to see the deer had 1' horn on opposite side he shot on, 140 lbs. he was a little disappointed he didn't get a doe. We returned a couple hunts later and he got his doe aka (skillet head) 120 lbs dropped in her tracks. 3 shots 3 deer. We asked a biologist about the buck and genetics, he thought it was a late drop 1-1/2 year old. He said a late drop all nutrition goes to the body and not the antlers. Great Thanksgiving, Thanks RT

6 yr old Ehren was invited on a hunt by a good friend, he was excited with high hopes of getting a deer. He had no idea what was to be. After seeing several deer that day and not getting a shot, a buck come out and stopped long enough to get a shot. With all the high and lows of hunting, we were excited to have a hit. But with little blood we needed a miricale. With the help of southern track,n and Max his dreams came true. Max found his deer, one he will never forget an 8 point 181 lbs. He would like thank Thomas ,Max, Revel & most of all Mr Ricky for making this happen.

Shot this deer with a rage broad head. It was a great hole going in but did not exit. Does anyone else have this problom, yes it was a dead deer but if you bow hunt you know what an exit hole means. I shoot 70lbs, 100 gr broad heads at 283 FPS. It hit the other rib cage but no exit, second deer for me and one for another guy shooting about the same rig this season.

This year had a lot of nice deer killed in Louisiana, just wanted to know if there are a lot of people who don't want to say what they kill or where? With a lot of people out there trying to pass on bucks to get a better class of deer and making some head way, if they fear there leases would be targeted and maybe out bid. We all know the high price per acre the ( Big Buck) areas go far. At one time you killed a good buck and put in the back of the truck and drove it around for all to see and now I know people who cover them up while out on the road. What do you think?

This is a buck I got pictures of before and during bow season. Shot him sunday morning, never saw the bladed brow guards. He is a different looking buck.

Did anyone else notice the price of bullets lately? WOW almost 50 bucks for a box of 20, are the hunters part of the new (STEAL FROM US PACKAGE) that the government has passed. Maybe they won't get our guns but they will take our ammo.

Went out early Saturday morning only had 2-1/2 hours to fish, picked up some sacs and a few perch, got out of that heat and when the sun went down I changed location and finished off my day of fishing.

That is good advise from these guys. For your own use you don't need expensive equipment, just make it fun for you. I like to mount the camera to the tree just above my right shoulder barely overhead. You also need to set your stand up for filming which usually mean you have to cut away alot of cover, I have my camera on auto focus for less movement. You will learn it is not always what you think you see, when you go back in slo- mo and watch it can be fun. Also for special effects make sure and try a lum a nok.

A comment titled: Poacher in response to a report titled: Need some advice

If you have some evidence the game agent will look in to it and see how many charges he can clearly be charged with. If you took that camera turn it in to the agent and anything else you find. If you press charges be ready to go to court as a witness. Don't forget to ask about how the law is when you take someones stand or camera off of your own property he can get you with thef if he has proof. Just traspass is the sheriff office, hunting is game agent. 1st offense is $500 and or 10 days in jail 2nd is double. Good Luck

A comment titled: CCA in response to a report titled: River Parishes CCA Spring Fishing Seminar is April 13th

If they are the conservationist they claim to be maybe there members will release all of their fish for the next few years so everyone can enjoy the rewards.

A comment titled: CCA in response to a report titled: Delta CCA Chapter Banquet is April 14th

Will not support them again. They want some people to have all the rights to the fish so they can catch too many and want others banned. If the fishery is in danger ban everyone or reduce the numbers.

A comment titled: BAN FISHING in response to a report titled: Committee to ban oyster fishing

You caught good fish here before, now it is a problom. Maybe we should ban all fishing while the spawn is on and limit everyone to 5 fish or less. If you get the CCA involved all they want to do is get rid of everybody else so they can keep their limits up, they are greedy.

A comment titled: BASS in response to a report titled: ON FIRE

Just don't P O the bass anglers like the GCCA are on bow fishing or you may loose your right to fish unless it is for a tournament. They can pull them off their bed and relocate them to spawn next year and they are fine with that. They loose all those baby fish but don't you dare eat ONE.

A comment titled: No Change in response to a report titled: Ban Bowfishing on REDS

Watch what you wish for you know what happened last time yall voted for change. I do both and know no matter what you do you can't please everyone. When bow fishing it is never a problem with small fish but throw a peice of shimp on a hook and you catch a lot of small fish in the throat, so none are perfect. Just go out and enjoy the few liberties we have left. No matter what you do you will have a few people make it look bad for everyone else.

A comment titled: AGE in response to a report titled: Past his prime?

Not a very big scull or pedicals, usually both are bigger with age and I don't think either can shrink. Also the teeth look pretty sharp and not worn. JMO

A comment titled: ANTI- HUNTERS in response to a report titled: anti-hunters

If you would bring them to a chicken, turkey or hog farm to see what goes on there, not mention most are on a health kick so I tell them how they pump these animals full of steroids to bulk them up and add weight. I tell them how deer and wild turky is a very lean meat and eat mostly an all natural diet. I have even brought out dishes of deer meat fixed different ways and they ate it up.
