Ended the first split on fire. Hunted just 15 minutes east of the mermentau bridge and a mile north of hwy. 82. We slammed ducks from opening weekend to the last day of the split. Nothing but greys and redheads but I'll take those over teal any day. Looking forward to the next split with more ducks in the marsh.

A comment titled: Mojo's in response to a report titled: Mojo in decoy spread

For the past few years, the ducks seem to get turned off quicker with the mojo's. With my experience from guiding hunts, if you have two, offset them. In other words, put one low right above the surface of the water, and then place another above and behind it. Make sure you give them a hole in the decoy spread to come in to. Help make it more realistic. Make sure you give the ducks your hunting a hole to come into also near your mojo's.

I shoot the extended range patternmaster and have been more than satisfied. You can really reach out and touch a duck or goose. Not many get by when this one is screwed in my barrel.

A comment titled: My calls in response to a report titled: New Spec Call

I have learned from guiding in Southwest LA that a good spec call is hard to find, and when you find it treasure it. My favorite is Chien Callie made in Geuydan. It is $50 though, I also like the orange call Haydel makes. It has good sound and travel.

A comment titled: Dirty Rice in response to a report titled: Duck calls

For beginners, the best call is the dirty rice by haydel's hands down. I wish someone would have have told me about that call first, it would have saved me a lot money and time.

A comment titled: Deciding factor in response to a report titled: Beretta vs. Benelli

Trout asassin is dead on about how the benelli thows up dead on, but I am here to set thing straight. I was in the same exact position as you. Extrema 2 or SBE 2. Both are the best automatics for duckhunting on the market. The benelli aims better but the extrema shoots smoother, cycles faster, and has the aquatec coating on it which comes in handy when you hunt the marsh. My deciding factor was which gun will hold up the best in the long run. The benelli cycles off of a spring which WILL become worn out and the gun WILL get to where it will not cycle a shell. The beretta is a gas operated system which will not wear out and it self cleans the gun preventing build up and mis-cycles. I went with the extrema 2 and I have shot many different guns and could not be happier. Good luck.

A comment titled: I.D. on the snake in response to a report titled: What kind?

The smake is a common corn snake or chicken snake. It is nonvenomous and are usually found on pine trees. They are extremely good climbers. Hope it helps.

A comment titled: Pobably the carb. in response to a report titled: go-devil trouble

I had the same problem after replacing everything. If you do not know how to set or adjust the carb, find someone who can. There should be two screws, one for amount of gas released and one for air intake. That is going to be the problem, one of the screws either backed out or vibrated tighter. Hope I can help.
