You can blame the refuge officals for that. Back in the day the dogfights were held at the launch and every fish was released back. And a percentage of the tournament money was taken out and used for restocking everyear by the tournament director(not the refuge). Then the refuge decided it didnt want tournaments held on the refuge so thats why the weighin is in hayes and its not just a laccasine tournament. They then decided that since we were taking fish off the refuge they didnt want them back in because of the possiblity of stressed out fish spreading deseases when put back in.
I think about 8-10yrs ago 1 pintail and 2 specks
Yall say ducks in the pacific flyway have nothing to do with louisiana? Well I got 3 bands killed in louisiana that were banded in the pacific flyway, so that just shows that they dont always stick to the same flyway. Anyway I think he meant that they were still just up north.
Honestly we always do better in the first split anyway. Usally towards the end of the second split is some of our worst hunts. Like today 13 mallards 6 pintail a few wiegon and mottles and rest grays. Just gotta be where they at but we due have the luxury of lots of different places and blinds so we move around alot.
You can identify this duck as a drake mottle duck if the only thing you had was the head. Just look at the head, its clearly a drake bill, Greenheads and drake mottle ducks have the same exact bill, mallard hens have the orange and black bill.
I have a 2003 z71 that does the same thing. I have to take the steering shaft apart about every year and regrease it. It doesnt affect the steering at all just sounds bad when on curves. I havent found a permanent solution to it but I figure regreaseing till I buy a new one would be cheaper.
Who cares how big it is its legal. And heres some info you never hear about. I hunt in big private marsh for deer and every year we get pics of all the new yearlings from that spring. We have several cameras out all year and pretty much know every single deer on the property. Over the past several years we found something very intresting happening. Most of these yearlings make it to hunting season but only a few ever survive through the winter because of predators (mainly big alligators), these deer start swimming across the marsh alot more in the winter. All the mature deer survive but not many of the little ones so why not go ahead and shoot them and let the mature ones walk. We rarely shoot them cause we mainly after the bucks anyway. But if im after some meat im gonna shoot a yearling over a mature doe just becaues I know that doe is gonna have a lot better chance of surviving and producing more yearlings than the little one.
Once you idle up to the wier and get lined up give it gas and go through kinda fast if you go to slow the tide will throw your boat around. And once you have committed never never try to stop.
I personaly havent shot them but have heard good and bad things about them. I know all my buddys that started shooting them when they first came out all said they were awesome but now after they all shot several deer with them none of them still use them. They all said they are trash. I also took some guys fishing the other day that said they just came back from a big hunting ranch in montana and that ranch and some others have outlawed them because they were losing to many deer with them. Just what I heard.
Well I got plenty pics of a lot of deer and some good bucks during daylight everyday, problem is I cant convince the doctor to take the cast off my broken leg so I can climb into my stands. But it wont be long and something gonna die the first day I get up there.
What we seen in that area about 6 years ago was not a bobcat, I see bobcats all the time and was not a lynx I know that for sure. Even the game wardens in that area told us there was a few cougars around there. Even last year after the hurricane game wardens said on the news the saw 2 of them while flying over the marsh on the other side of the lake.
You just had some bad luck cause all I fish with is H&H and its one of the best brands you can buy. Yes I have broke them but it was my fought everytime and its probably goona be hard to spend more money on another brand cause H&H's are a high dollar rod.
Thats always been a problem with PSE, I have heard of a lot of cracked limbs with PSE bows. Just get a mathews and you wont have them problems.
I saw the same thing in that area about 5-6 years ago just dont have pics, I was bow hunting and it wasnt a bobcat it was brown about 100lbs and a 3ft tail. Seen it that one time and that was it, heard it a few times that season or what I thought was it and after seeing that thing it seemed like all my deer disappeared that season. What I saw looked more like a mountain lion.
Putting a camera on a feeder your gonna have alot of pics of coons not much u can do about that. As far as getting pics of deer, they have to show up to get pics of them the coons not gonna scare them away.
I've killed alot of hogs in my time, that pig is every bit of 225lbs if not alot more
Yeah those are some young deer most of my 1 1/2yr olds look like that. Most of them turn out to have some good racks if u give them time. I've had spikes smaller than that tun out to be decent 8pts by the next year.
I did the bottom of my boat with herculiner it came out good,it only weighed like 10 pounds for the whole can
ive caught several in biglake, small ling and remora look just alike but u can tell the difference look at the spikes on its back
I tell u what probably everybodys first gun was an 870 and their hard to beat for the price, but I guide everyday of duck season and alot of goose season dont think them 870s are all that. I see every make an model come through my blind and 870s due have their share of problems mostly with the express not very often with the wingmaster. The wingmaster has machined parts the express doesnt. And the high dollar autos dont jam very often at all their pretty dependable from what i have seen. I still shot my extrema 1 every day and its 8yrs old and never jams even when dirty.
Just my opinion on what ive seen
