Purchased a new hummingbird 788 and after a few trips its starts locking up with the displays normally at the top showing up at the bottom of the screen. Turn the unit off and back on and works fine for a while then the same problem. Checked the ground and power, all seem OK.

This ones for the guys in the blue and white bay boat that failed to make the curve past the mud hole at Joseph Harbor on Saturday. Those guys in the three gator tail rigs that pulled you off that mud flat had no obligation to help you, the bay boat was actually leaning to the side dry docked in MUD.Once out in deep water the guys in the bay boat dropped the pull ropes over side gave these guys the Ole''finger see ya' and took off, not even a thank you. I'm sure if they ever see ya in trouble again they wont be so inclined to help you out.

A comment titled: Season delay in response to a report titled: Delayed migration of ducks ?

This is not a win for some, the last weeks of the second split are usally horrible, at best. There are birds in good numbers showing up now. This is also fustarting for a lot of hunters who have to select vacation times months in advance of the season opener. My thoughts.

Had a friend kill one last year, being new to duck hunting, when he got back to the camp he wanted to know what the hell it was! Needless to say he still cant live it down. Have been seeing more and more down there.

I would install a jack plate instead, gives extra boat length and better motor positioning. Helps porpoising and will get you extra top end. Put one on our Xpress bay, was like night and day.

Purchased the 'Stick-It' bracket and rod after seeing it advertised in the Sportsman Mag. Installed it with a plate bolted to the jack plate, works great. Thinking about getting another for the front.

A comment titled: Hunting Dogs in response to a report titled: Deer dogs

We need to tread carefully on this, a large majority of my deer hunting was done with dogs although I still hunt now. Read the above post and there are a lot of good points, watch out what you wish for your hunting practice's may be next on the chopping block. As for killing a a mans dogs, that can only end very bad.

A comment titled: Common Courtesy in response to a report titled: HENDERSON BOATERS / FISHER PERSONS

Agree and disagree on a lot of this, but if your sitting in one of the main canals or fishing one of the bigger lakes in Henderson your a idiot if you get mad at passing traffic. I fish the lake in a small rig and I know where your coming from, but hey would you get on I-10 and drive 30 mph? No, you would find a back road that fit your means. So fish where your gone to feel comfortable.

If your gone to throw out names like this you need to be more specific on who your calling out. There is more than one breeder with that name, the other one will not be happy!

A comment titled: Lake level in response to a report titled: NEW LAKE RECORD

A friend used a four wheeler and his gps to mark a bunch of areas in blue lake area the last time the lake was this low. When the water was back up it was kind of crazy to see the boat passing over the tracks underwater from all the atv traffic.

A comment titled: Tractor tires in response to a report titled: Where to buy tractor tires?

If your like most, your probably overloading the front end loader when having tire trouble, your problem may be just to add water to the rear tires to help counter the load. We have the same tractor set up and run the back tires with about half a tire of water. If its the terrain your running you may need to look for the style tire that is run on skid steer loaders, they are solid rubber, and look like swiss cheese from the side to help out on the stiffness.

Are you set on a mud boat, after running surface drives there is no way you would get me back in a mud boat. Maintenance, easy operation, and ability to use for other interest top the list.

We use one of those 'H' shaped extension cord holders from Wal-mart or Lowes. Works well and simple.

I normally use a small drill bit by hand to clean out, using a piece of wire and such can just make the problem worse by packing it in.

A comment titled: Express dealers in response to a report titled: xpress boat

These guys are right about H&M. Have bought boats at the dealers mentioned on your post, last express(X22Bay) came from Mississippi Marine in Brookhaven. 1-888-833-7404, great experience. Drove there from the Lafayette area, my next one will likely be from them.

A comment titled: hyro truf in response to a report titled: Boat Floor Liner

This stuff is the ticket, got in a 18/46 Gator Tail and this stuff will not let you slip or slide with redfish slim or marsh mud all over the floor. One boat at the camp has had it for three years and stays parked outside and the stuff is still in great shape. The 3M self stick is the way to go!

A comment titled: Dog hunting in response to a report titled: DEER DOGS

As a past dog hunter I enjoyed it but don't use them any more due to the club we are in now, but in saying that, people get mad with the dogs and want them banned, the question is what's next! The Bow clubs want them banned, so once PETA or whoever gets that what's next on the hit list. Will it be broad heads, then Scoped rifles, who knows where it will end or if it will! The dog hunters must try to respect the still and private land hunters(you can't run 10 hounds on 20 acre's)A little common sense and respect could go a long way on both sides. Just my 2 cents.

A comment titled: Flooring in response to a report titled: boat floor linings

Wouldn't put a liner because of weight(serious, I was talked out of it by a friend who owns a liner dealership), Hydro turf is the way to go, one boat at the camp has had in there for three years and it still looks great, put it in my own this spring. Get it with the peel and stick backing and its easy to put in. Have seen the floor of the boat coated with redfish slim and can still walk around with out busten your tail.
