Chicken snake? Rat snake? At Approx. 68' TO 72' most unlikely that this is a copperhead. Never seen a copperhead with the color being so dark. But I guess we will never know which snake it was.
Before you do anything else check your action for tightness. If you can get your hands on a inch pound torque wrench. A good start is 45inch pounds for the factory stock. This could be your trouble.
JUST GOT TO KNOW THE INSIDE SPREAD?
If the grass is thick the rod is probably standing straight up. So it may take more effort. It all depends on how bad you want to find it. Shooting gators in thick grass are hard to find, because they suspend in the grass. So this may be the same for you.
Shoots flatter, and it comes with a Monte Carlo Stock,in both synthetic or wood.Very nice feeling gun in either.
Are you doing a survey or you really would like to shoot a gator with a bow?
lagatorpatrol/ Its not easy but it can be done.
