Saturday I had the pleasure of fishing a father and son duo. After getting the boat into position we started off strong with about 40 fish in the boat by 10:00am. Fish shut off and we made a few moves. The last move was the one that made it all worth while! The duo started loading the boat up with 6-14lb sheepshead and a nice mess of 2-4lb trout again. Ended the day with 59 trout, a mess load of monster sheepshead and 3 flounders. The son said that was his biggest and most fish caught ever. He never knew they fought so hard! Lol
A great time was had by all and the son was begging to book another charter!

Friday I had 4 clients and hit the trestles early. Found the water dead calm and very little current movement. Although disturbed by no movement we put 32 fish in the box before 6:30am. We kept knocking on the piling till we had to start adding water to the ice chest to make room for more fish. We ended the day at 11:00 with a box of fish that sprayed water at you every time you opened the box.LOL
The count at the end of the day was 73 with us having some 3-4 pound trout and one that tipped the scale at 5.14. It was all smiles headed back to the marina watching the water seep out of the ice chest being so full of fish. Loaded up a rolling cart and a hamper of fish for about a 2 hour cleaning spree! Want to come catching? Call (985)-649-FISH or my cell at (504)-915-0693

Lake Pontchatrain has been producing some great fishing the last several months. Using Matrix Chad's in Lemon, Creole, Pink Champagne and Magnetto colors are producing very nice fish off the bridges and even in the marsh. Deadly Dudley's Opening night, blue moon,Slammin Sammy and the new Lemon Pepper are also a go to lure fishing the bridges. Redfish are plentiful in the marsh and Bombers Mud Minnow in Black and Chartruese or Chicken Lips in the curly tail have been working great! If you find they are not hitting your lure of choice under a popping cork, bouncing lures off the bottom, or running any of your favorites with a spinner blade you can always change it up a little. Lately the Redfish have been craving the Gold Who DAT Gold Spoon with the gold spinner blade that also works as a weed guard. It's easy to use and there is no method to the madness. Bounce it, reel and stop, crawl it, do whatever you want to do with it. Have fun and stay safe on the water. May 1st is around the corner and the shrimp season opening will make fishing very fun for friends, family and remember to bring the kids along! We are almost totally booked up, but if you want to call and fish with Therapy Charters please call (985) 649-FISH or (504) 915-0693. We guarantee fish and also a good time to be had by all! Book your charter TODAY!

Headed out to towards 9 mile 3 mile,Half Moon areas yesterday. Left the house around 11:00 and went down the pearl river to make a shot trip of high seas. Jumped out into Borgne to find birds working all over. Water was very clear. It's the cleanest water I've seen in a while. Passing up crab traps you can see the ropes about 2' under the float. What a big suprise to see the water so clean even after all the high winds and the river water. First stop was on a large set of working birds. First cast Tom and I both hooked up using Marsh works corks and 1/8oz. jig heads with 2' of 30# mono leader and using Berkley 4' curely tail mullets, fish on! Not only 2 nice specks, but as the trout where about to enter the boat, I noticed a large fish behind it. Looking at the trout and the approaching large fish the trout was suddenly hit by the fish which looked like a shark. Fish On AGAIN, but this time it's the trout that was the bait of choice as the larger fish enhaled the trout and took off. As we watched the reels get despooled we put the smack down to stop this larger fish from taking all the Tuf Line 30# braid off our reels. After about a 5 minute fight which seemed like a hour Tom was about to get it close enough to the boat to have a look. As I jumped up to grab the net and get some camera action I threw my new Coasta 580's off my head and overboard. NOT A GREAT THING TO DO. Only 2 months old and now $250 in the drink! I wiped my tears fast(lol) and proceeded to film this fish that just swallowed a 14-15' trout. Popping cork just starting to surface we noticed it was not a shark. NOT A SHARK? NO, a large Redfish. And not just a rRedfish, but a super Bull Red weighing in at over 30lbs. As we filmed the fish we tried to see where the trout was, but after a check of the mouth, nothing! We brought the Redfish home, not for us but for someone else who wanted a large Redfish to eat. A quick removal of the belly and yes a 15 1/4' trout completely in tack. It's amazing to think these Redfish were feeding on trout! We finished working several groups of birds and manage to catch well over 100 fish, but only kept our limit and headed in with a few showers just popping up. Clean water, a quick trip and a box of fish, what more can a person ask for! We have some dates still available for July if you are interested in getting on some nice trout with quick action! Call us for available dates.

As I was working my way on a charter yesterday with my clients I came up on a single person in a new bait broke down. I stopped and checked with him and went Redfishing in the marsh. When returning I hooked up to his boat and tried to tow him back to the Rigolets, but the seas were to rough for the 17 ft boat being towed by me. I called into Coast Guard then Sea Tow. Immediately Sea Tow was in route to tow the man and his new boat back to safe harbor. If you are not a member you need to call and sign up. A membership runs less than $200 a year. And to let you know the non-member or now new member payed almost 4times that amount. Call Captain Christian or Hotrod today and save some money in the long run! Following my statement I made at the Wildlife and Fisheries meeting on Thursday, I would like to make some things clear. I was and all for the catch and release program. My statement about catching and keeping was for the waters like Lake Pontchatrain and newly effected areas not directly in the front line of the gusher. I have been trying my hardest to run my charter business and not have to work for BP. I have not made the money that the BP employees are making, but my love for the fisheries and being out with clients for sees the money. Just out to make a honest living and keep loving what I do. I/Therapy Charters is not employeed by BP and I am still kicking around turning in my vessell paperwork that I filled out on 5/21/2010 still sitting on my desk. I have been putting it off trying to make my living on the waters doing what I love and not what BP wants or needs me to do. I love the waters in Louisiana and hate, hate, hate, to see these waters closing more and more everyday. I wish we could just fish. The message I want to state is that if we are not fishing, than all the businesses that we buy stuff from(bait, tackle, ice, etc) are hurting. I hate more than anything to see new and old business people struggle. All we can Pray for is that the testing is done in Pontchatrain, and Borgne and the waters are reopened for catch and whatever promptly. I would give anything to buy from locals and fish our backyard waters. Thanks to everyone for reading my opinion and I hope to see you on the water (FISHING) real soon!

Had the privelage to run a double charter with Big Fish CT Williams yesterday. I had all the Ladies who I must say have never fished Louisiana waters or caught a Redfish. I took control and taught all the Ladies how to cast, pop the corks, how to bait hooks, even though I did that all day anyway. And what to look for before just throwing out into the waters. Well dinner was on the line and the men were determined to win! As gentlemen I knew that they would pay regardless or else! But we( the Ladies and I took the bet!) We worked the marsh areas from Stump Lagoon, around but not in Lake Eugene, and Petes Bayou. The ladies ended up catching 8 Redfish (6 that we kept), a flounder, sheephead, drum, and 8 crabs( BIG BLUE ClAW CRABS)we never kept the crabs, but was a extra since non of these ladies had ever fished or caught anything in Louisiana waters. The Ladies beat the men and a great time was had by all. Came back to the dock early so they could hit up Jazz Fest and back to California. Just a little note I did not fish I was attending to there needs from bug spray installation, fish removal, bait hooking, casting, and help reel in the fish, or I was going to loose some poles! I enjoyed them very much and will see them next time around! Come Relax Wth Us! Call (985)640-FISH or my cell(504)915-0693 to book your charter of a lifetime! I supply everything and we catch FISH!

Being on there Pro staff if there was a issue I would know about it I would know about it. Check your handheld batteries. Might just be operator error! Sometimes batteries run low due to cold temperatures. That's where I would start.

I have been running one for a few years and I can tell you I run it longer and harder than my 4 stroke Yamaha. I have had zero problems with the unit. May have a bad unit or head board. These units gave been working pretty flawless for me as a charter captain. I'll never go back to anything else!

A comment titled: Sea Tow and new APP and VHF in response to a report titled: Free new toy

I am enjoying using my new app. from Sea Tow. I mostly fish Lake Pontchatrain, lake Borgne and Biloxi Marsh area for my charters. Lately I have been in Lafitte running charters with Thoephile, but I also have a family camp located on Grand Isle. I really feel this App. works well with the use of needing to know about different locations tide and weather status. I have seen a few comments about the APP having a call for assistance menu and people saying that if the phone doesn't work it's no good to have. I am a charter captain and have been stuck in no mans land with no phone service also. The use of your friendly VHF and calling Coast Guard for assistance in contacting Sea Tow was not a inconvenience.Having a APP that doesn't work should not be a big concern. Just know that with the right equipment aboard your vessel you are always in the SAFE hands of SEA TOW! Trust me, I have been their and done that and I never worry about problems on the water knowing that I am a SEA TOW member and they are only a call away. If it is from your phone using the APP, cell phone, or on your VHF! The APP is just another way of contacting them if in an area that you have coverage in and if you don't the chalk it up as a way of finding out the tide and weather forecast before you venture off. Nothing is going to be what everyone wants, so use the APP in a way that it works best for YOU!

A comment titled: Lake Pontchatrain in response to a report titled: Please read!!! Fishing Thursday are Friday

Over 500 test have been performed by FDA. And no sign of oil in the fisheries. Lake Pontchatrain is ready to be fished. The lake is clean and my son and cousins swam all day yesterday. If Wildlife and Fisheries and others can say Louisiana's seafood is safe to eat. I truly believe the fish in Lake Pontchatrain are safe. I also believe they are testing us to Death. If you test tap water long enough, I believe that someone or something can find it to be cancerous. Let's get out and enjoy our FISHING!
