Anyone have any pointers on landing garfish? I regularly hook them behind my house, but its hard to get them up on the dock. Its about 2 feet or so to get them up. I've been using a pole with a hook on the end, but its still hard trying to get that hook under his mouth. It's really frustrating when you finally hook one of those finicky bastards not to be able to get him in.
I need some help with reading the tides. Yesterday low tide was at 5am or so for chef pass. The tide rose until about 7pm then quit. I stayed up until 4am and No tide movement in chef pass but at my dock the water was low. The night before the water was rolling in the pass, but it was flowing from the icw towards lake P. I'm totally confused now. Can someone please give me some help. Thanks
Anyone go hunting in new Orleans east? I used to go off michoud blvd with my bow, but the land is being cleared over there. I always see plenty of hogs from michoud to venetian isles but that is the refuge.
