35th Annual Cajun Heritage Festival
Louisiana State Carving Championship

The Cajun Heritage Festival is proud to announce the 2011 Louisiana State Carving Championship Competition, celebrating 35 years of existence, it will be held October 14, 15, 16, 2011 at the Larose Civic Center.
The Cajun Heritage Festival was originally founded in 1979 as the Cajun Hunters Club to promote hand carved decoys. Since then it has grown into a weekend long celebration of Southern Louisiana history, culture and hands on seminars. The festival simultaneously increases ones awareness of the past and the present cultural treasures, provides built public relations to get more people involved to preserve our culture and the way of life in Louisiana.

8am – 10am Registration for all competitors in all categories
8am – 5pm Table Viewing: Buying, Selling, & trading of all Table items
10am – 3pm Kids Corner: Activities include painting & coloring of wildlife
10:30 – 5pm Judging of all categories
11am – 3pm Seminars: General Carving, Wood Burning, Head Whittling
3pm Duck Calling Contest
