This picture is from my brother-in-laws trail camara in Livingston Prish. Is it a whitetail fawn or an axis deer fawn. It just seems awful late for a whitetail to still have its spots.
After being busted last week by what I think was the same little doe I finally made my first kill. She is small, dressed out at 70lbs. It feels good to finally get one.
Check AKC or CKC.
Just past LaPlace on Airline Hwy there is a outdoor shooting range. The name of it is Nick's, phone number is 985-535-8161. They do have a gunsmith if you need someone to make modifications.
The .357 is a little weak but will do the job at close range. I was going with a .41 mag but opted for the 44 because of a larger varity of ammo. If you choose the .357 just make sure that you use the right ammo and practice.
I just bought a .44 mag. Super Blackhawk Hunter for that purpose. I bought it at Cabela's for $600. It comes with the rings to mount a scope. So if you don't mind a single action revolver, you know my choice.
I also have a couple of food plots I need cut and disced. Leave a phone number at least.
I like my Buckmark. No problems at all. Down the line I would like to add a 22 Mag although my next purchase will be a Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter 44mag. Money is in the bank a Birthday / Father's Day present from wife and sons. I will post pictures when I get it.
According to nola.com the road is now open.
I live in Laplace and it would be worth a 1/2 hour drive to shoot on a good 3-D range.
According to the Corps web site the spillway ATV areas are still closed due to damage to the roads and the trails. I pass there in the afternoons and you can see some of the damage from the bridge. You can see where truck have gone in and around the bad spots causing even more damage.
I bought a 2005 off of ebay for just over $2000 last year.
Catch it, take it to a pound in another parish. While you are at it loose the colar before you drop it off.
Three year old male lemon bassat hound. Sorry I know you said lab but he is what I have.
I shoot a 270 Win., but was quite impressed with the 12ga. slug gun that my son shoots. At close range (under 100 yds.) it should stop anything.
I also hunt in Livingston Parish outside of Killian.
Even with the leverolution round I would not take a 300yd shot, but thats just me. I would need alot of practice at that range
If you want to see a camp just stay on Airline going north. There is a camp just past the management area.
I think that these issues get talked to death. They know what has to be done, so get started. It is not only Lake Maurepas that needs help. They really need to start with the same type of projects on the west bank of the river if they want to rebuild the land along the Gulf
The one in the background looks larger and also has spots
