Well, I was blessed by the the hunting God this year. Been hunting 25 years and never shot anything big enough to put on a wall, until this year. Got this guy the very last weekend of the year. Actually, it was the last day for me to hunt. He was aged at 6 years old, 175 pounds (not an ounce of fat on him from rutting) with 11 points and a 16 inch spread. Finished the year with a doe, 8, 11, and a 12 point. Awesome year and thank you to my wonderful wife for allowing me to hunt so much!

Finally got me a nice buck, only after 25 years of hunting. To make it even better, my wife was with me. It was her first hunt ever and both of us climbed up in a single man ladder stand. This 12 point come in behind us and we watched him make a scrape. I shot him at 8 yards.

My son and I decided to go and sit together in the stand and make an evening hunt, since the front was coming. It ended up being a great hunt! The first hog came out and took off running across the field and my son dropped it in its tracks just before it made it to the other side. Soon after the other one took off running across and was cutting back and forth like Mark Ingram (ROLL TIDE!)and I dropped it just before making it to the other side. This was my son’s first hog, last year he got his first deer and I think he is hooked for life! Just wanted to share it with ya'll. There is nothing like having a good hunt with your kid!

Hey Guys!

Can anyone tell me if there is a person that can recarpet boats? I have a 1994 Alumaweld 17ft boat that the carpet is coming up and need to find someone to recarpet for me. I will also consider spraying a liner if that is more economical. Thanks for any help yall can give me!

I was leaning to the 444 but then saw the 45-70 Buffalo classic by H&R. It's something different than most others using. Might be fun to hunt with that....or miss with it.

A comment titled: Savage in response to a report titled: Rifle

By the way, the 308 I have is the Savage with the accutrigger. These guys are right, Its a very accurate rifle and I love the accutrigger. For the money its been an outstanding rifle. I also reload the ballistic tip and its performed very well too. I would stay away from the Remington Core lokt bullets.

A comment titled: Rifle Cal? in response to a report titled: Rifle

I own a 308,30-06 and a 270. I tend to hunt mostly with my 308 and 270. I never had a deer run off with the 30-06 or the 308, but I am much more accurate with the 308 and 270. I think its because Im a smaller guy and the 308 and 270 have less recoil than the 30-06. But, like the others said, you have a much wider range of bullets to shoot out of the 308 and 30-06. I have shot three deer with the 270 and had to track two of them about 30 yards each. Thats not all that bad but I havent had to track at all with the other two and I have killed numerous deer with them. I really think you will be happy with any of the three. Good luck and happy hunting.

I still have the head. I was thinking about trying to boil it and have a skull mount. What kind of electric call do you use? We have a big hog problem and I was going to hit them hard after deer season. Thanks for the info.

The bore had double tusks. My buddy said that is kind of rare. I don't know, but it was pretty cool anyways.
