I usually run a few cotton swabs with oil and/or bore cleaner through my 30 year old deer rifle after each season. This year, I bought some Hoppe's #9 with copper remover and borecleaner. When I ran it through my .270 BAR, little flecks of metal kept coming out after many passes with swabs.
Is this just stuff coming out of the grooves and is a good thing, or are they symptomatic of a more serious problem?
I've got a 4WD JD 3520 that keeps blowing tires our on the front end. It's located in Tylertown, MS. I want to buy new tires, but I hate to just go to the only guy in town and not shop the price.
I've tried to find sites on the net to shop, but have come up short.
Sure would appreciate advice if you have it.
I've got a two year old Choc lab that is very loyal, but he is terrified of gun shots. How do I train him to not be afraid?
A friend told me to plant chufa now because it would attract both deer and turkeys later on. I have a sandy beach area that the turkeys frequent, so I was planning on doing it there. Any advice? I'm a novice at this.
I planted rye grass in October, and it is now 2-3 feet tall and seeds are appearing. One of my friends said that I should leave it alone for bedding areas, etc. Another friend said that I should cut them down now to allow new shoots to grow. Should I cut it now or not?
I keep hearing about how great Tony Lapratt is and how he can turn your 50 acre land into a buck magnet. Does anyone out there have any personal knowledge of his Boot Camp or visits? I'm thinking of going to Michigan to attend, and want to make sure its worthwhile.
I would like to plant my own food plots this year, and I can't figure out whether it's better to get a Plotmaster (or something like it) to pull behind my ATV or tractor.
Are they worth it? Can I find a good one used? Where?
I'm new to farming and don't want to buy unnecessary impliments, etc. to try and save a buck.
I just got a year old chocolate lab, and I would like for it to track wounded deer. How do I train it to do so? He's full of pep, and I'm afraid that he would just think that we are going for a walk in the woods....
