The Bayou Bassmasters of Slidell, a local fishing club, knows that too and has scheduled a couple of events to keep days on the water in the minds of area anglers. Here's what they're offering:

-- A Casting Kids event is scheduled for APRIL 21,2006 at Academy Sports and Outdoors just off Airport Road in Slidell. Though the competition won't be on a scenic place such as Bayou Lacombe, it promises to be fun for those who enter.
Children ages 7-14 will be divided into two age groups and will be allowed to test their flipping, pitching and casting abilities. The event is free and kids will have a chance to win prizes and also advance to bigger Casting Kids competitions.

Casting Kids will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Academy. For information, call 774-3121 or 285-5688.

The fishing was pretty good today as Louie ( The Fish ) and I went out around 2pm. We started off with about 18 trout in the frist 20 minutes. By the end of the day we caught about 45 to 50 trout. We had about 30 keepers. It looks like the bigger trout are starting to show back up. Here are a few pictures I would like to share with you all. Good Luck Fishing...

A comment titled: These fish are still alive in response to a report titled: Tank Pond big boys

Before you jump the Gun. Those fish where not cooked. My buddy has a pond in his yard that he lets kids fish out of all year long and they where released in the pond alive. But your right there will never be any hugh fish due to meat eaters and people who keep bass over 3 pounds.

The owner is the biggest joke to a shop owner you will ever meet. Plus HE is a BIG FAT RIP OFF. Beware of his scams...I won't bring my dog for a bath to this guy.
