I had Jamie Ferrington and his two sons today

On the Gator Tail.. We were running to where the reds were

Stacked last week and came across a massive school

Of redfish.. Hundreds of fish tailing in a foot of water or less

I literally stopped the motor and had 50 fish within 20' of the boat. It was fish on every cast .. It took about 30 minutes to put

Number 20 in the cooler..Gold.... Read More

We had a really great week catching redfish. I ran trips from Falgout Canal in Dularge and Sharky's landing by Lake Boudreaux and found the redfish stacked up in both areas. We all had 1/2 oz Johnson gold spoons tied on and that was all we needed. Mostly sight casting to tailing and fish pushing. Nice schools of up to 30 fish with their tails out of the water in a foot of water and some smaller.... Read More

Spent a fun Saturday night in the marsh with Chris James and crew. Dirty water made the fish hard to see in our first location. Made a little move and started seeing some nice redfish, drum, sheephead and a ton of alligator garfish.

The guys hit some and missed some but it was fun and big smiles by all. A good first trip for the new dual Gator Tail rig. It is rigged and ready so please call.... Read More

Windy week to fish for trout, so we stayed in the calm marshes and busted up redfish and some bass.

Fished Dularge and Cocodrie and found redfish stacked up in both locations. Look for clear water with grass and bait and the reds were there.

The grass in Boudreaux areas is starting to die back allready and the fish are spread out all over the place but we still caught them good on.... Read More

I had Mr. Jay and Doug Harpel today down from Washington and Texas . They came a long way to catch some redfish..

And catch they did.. High water and wind had the fish scattered , but we did the stick and move trick.

Picking up a few fish at every stop.. At the end of the day we had three limits of reds and 20 nice trout in the box for our efforts . Johnson gold spoons for the reds and.... Read More

What a great day for fishing.. Let the weather stay like this

Forever...Great for sight casting big reds in the shallows.

They are loaded in the clear grassy ponds north of Cocodrie.

1/2 oz Johnson gold spoons on 50 lb spider wire braided line.

Dropping the spoons on their noses 20 feet from the boat and watching them inhale it. Sometimes 10-15 fish in a school. Double and triple.... Read More

I had a canceled trip today so we loaded up and went

Put some hours and fish on the new Skeeter.

I loved my Champion , but the Skeeter is an awesome

Machine.

Even with the high north winds we tucked in to the east /west

Canals and smacked the bass , goggle-eye, perch and Sacalait.

Bass on a watermelon craw worm and the Sacalait on a black and chartreuse curly tail under a.... Read More

I had the pleasure of fishing with Daniel Louque two days in a row. We smacked a bunch of bass and a few Sacalait yesterday. Then today his wife, daughter and crew came back for some trout and redfish action. A slow but steady trout bite with high life swimmers and matrix shad. Daniel caught one trout pushing four pounds. We boxed 20 nice trout and .went soak some shrimp catching a few reds..... Read More

FOGGY ... Today. Be careful on the water this weekend, it will be dense fog again tommorrow. We left from Falgout canal and ran to the Copasaw area for a great day of fishing .

We found clean water and hungry bass . The best bait today was a 1/4 oz golden shiner slam dunk spinnerbait with a willow leaf blade. The post spawn fish have moved off the bank and are holding on the grass beds. We.... Read More

Great day on the water today with Mr. Edwin and his wife Kathy. This is their second trip with me. They came all the way from Indiana to catch some redfish. The first pond we ran into was loaded with big reds running in every direction. Those suckers did not want to bite. We caught one for every 20 we cast to, I'm looking at the fish 20' from the boat, passed the bait on their noses. We.... Read More

Great day with my son !!!We slept late and launched at 8am.

We found the Redfish tourney boats in our honey hole today .

So we did not want to mess them up. Went scouting and found another huge school of redfish !! Tails out of the water in every direction. Same deal as yesterday . Gold spoons and spinnerbaits did the trick . With the low water they were not on the banks , but on the edges.... Read More

Awesome day today out of Bobs Bayou Black Marina. We had a great week of fishing , but today was insane !!

Joining me was Larry Landry and Lynn Hoggatt.

We started at daylight and found a slow but steady bite, with the fish anywhere from right on the bank to 5 feet off. (All the ones that were off the bank were big females loaded with eggs.)

We also caught numerous bass while sacaliat.... Read More

What a pretty day for a BBQ or a seafood boil, but not for a freshwater trip... You would think..with the high pressure and blue skies. I had Ben Hebert and his friend Heather today. We started where we left them biting yesterday . It was game on ..until the sun popped out and the bite quit . The only thing we had going for us was we knew where they were at. We put the power pole down and.... Read More

I had Marc Dix and his buddy William today for a great trip!! We started in the cypress trees where we left them biting yesterday. It was a little slower but we put 20 nice sacalait in the live well. I think there were not many new fish moving up with the cold front that blew through. So we made a move to the marshes of turtle bayou. Lots of boat in the best canals, so we made a move to the.... Read More

What a great day on the water in the marshes south of Houma. I had Jared Rasonet and his friend Billy from New Iberia. These guys are some serious Sacalait fishermen.

We had non stop action!! Sacalait , bass and goggle-eye .

The fish are on the bank and the spawn is in full swing.

Look for any clean banks that don't have floating

Grass and that's where the are. Black and.... Read More

Just something about spring time and fresh water fishing!!Love the sacalait and bass fishing in the marshes south of Houma. They have been biting when we get a few warm days in between the cold winter days. We have found the fish on cypress tree and laydowns. We have been fishing with a black and chartreuse tube jig on a 1/32oz jighead, under a cork. It is called a super jig, a bigger body tube.... Read More

I had William Hynson and his hunting buddy Terry down from Alabama and Mississippi for a blast and cast Monday and Tuesday. Monday we woke up to fog and rain so I told them it was useless to get in the duck blind. We waited until the sun rose and went in search for some fish. It did not take long to find them as Capt. Olden had put a hurting on them the day before. When we rounded the point to.... Read More
