I'm an avid waterfowl hunter and i mostly do my hunting in the marshes of southeast la, particularly in the marshes of northwest terrebonne parish. I hunt in a beautiful freshwater marsh and we mostly kill ringnecks, redheads,canvasbacks and bwt. Who would be a good contact person with regards to a waterfowl lease in the chauvin area? I have a lease in bayou black, but am looking for secondary lease on saltwater marsh for a look at a variety of ducks other than ringnecks/redheads/canvasbacks. We had an incredible season in bayou black, but majority of our bags were divers. Any information would be great! Thanks! JOoJ

anyone hunted the bayou black area yet? more specifically orange grove or 70 mile area. going for the first time tommorow, wondering what to expect
12 quick birds in orange grove this mourning. greys, teal, and ringnecks. done by 7:30 am. lots and lots of ringers, seems like old times again!

Just getting back from the lease in bayou black and there aren't many ducks to speak of. Our lease is holding maybe 30 bwt and a couple grey ducks. Anyone in the bayou black area seeing in concentrations of ducks?

the northern half of that is my lease, the area around the....
went to the lease in bayou black on sunday to start getting ready for duck season. saw a few little flocks of ringnecks. also saw 50 or so teal. great sign compared to last season.

The ducks are already piling into lake cataouatche....
Went to the lease in Orange Grove this weekend to start dressing some blinds and saw a few ducks.
Saw 5 small flocks of ringnecks, around 50 teal, a couple flocks of greys. Very encouraging compared to last season where we didn't see a duck opening weekend. Didn't kill one until the end of the first split if i remember right. Everything looks good....the tide was wayyy low!

My property behind the house flooded with all of the rain this week. I went ride to the back this mourn and saw several flocks of bwt. Hopefully i still have some water next weekend. We still don't have any in bayou black, so i will be hunting behind the house hopefully!

your one lucky man to have a place to hunt literally in....
Was at the lease in bayou black all weekend and didn't spot any teal. saw a couple hundred wood ducks and a few summer mallards. Lease look pretty good, the salvania is somewhat under control. Hopefully we can get some birds in by the 11th! Anyone out there spot any teal yet?

Anyone see any teal yet? I saw two nice flocks in PAC while fishing the hercules rodeo last weekend. Both flocks had between 7-15 teal, they really got my blood pumping!

Anyone else in the bayou black area having problems w/ giant salvania? We have it, and it is getting pretty bad. We have boomed off certain areas so it doesn't get into all of our lease. We have tried the weevles, but they don't seem to be working. Is there any chemical that kills this stuff because 2 4d and roundup doesn't do anything to it.

Anyone ever been bow fishing is Golden Meaadow? Planning on making a trip tonight and I don't no the location very well. Just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of.

Finally got a few birds. Had a 5 man limit by 8:15 this mourning. Mostly ringnecks, with a few teal mixed in. Have a concentration of about 5-7 thousand ringnecks on our lease along with the 50 or so teal. Lots of poul do also. Second split opener has already been better than the whole first split.

Hunted orange grove this mourning again and didn't kill any ducks again. saw maybe 10.

Man sounds like you are having a really hard time of it....
Hunted lease in bayou black this mourning and didn't shoot a shot. Third hunt this year and it is the third scratch this year. This mourning was the worst, I only saw 3 teal, nothing flying high. Still have an abundance of pouldo. Im gonna try again friday, if nothing, them im gonna turn into a deer hunter.
Any new ducks came down with this cold weather? I plan on hunting in the am, but would like to no if anyone has seen any new birds? specifically in the bayou black area.

north winds so hard almost got sea sick in the house boat....
Worst weekend in the history of our lease in bayou black. 11 ppl hunting both saturday and sunday and not one duck killed. Saw a couple of flights of ringnecks and teal, but nothing came near us. Ponds are loaded with feed and pouldos. Going back on Wed, hopefully with more success.

Well i dont feel that bad. Reading all the reorts on here....
Just got back from the lease. Went make sure the camp is ready for the weekend and that the blinds and decoys are ready to go. Everything was perfect except for the fact that we don't have any ducks. Not 1 ZERO, not even a teal or a summer mallard. We do have a couple hundred pouldo, but that doesn't really motivate me very much. We will see come saturday though.
