John Rucker posted a nice report for bank fishing Hwy 1, I will second that. I did not take any pictures but I have not put a boat in the water over the last 30 days and I have caught more fish than I can count. Sunday was 25 trout in an hour with 3 throw-backs. I will get some pictures this weekend and have a report for everyone. Gold spoons and plastic under a cork has done it for me.
I was able to catch some good fish yesterday before the wind got bad in the afternoon. I did not keep any of the reds, all about 24', once I got into the trout. They were smaller yesterday than they have been lately but still about 14-16' Over the last month I have caught more fish than the last few years, but I have been able to spend more time in Leeville because of a new job. I will try.... Read More
I was able to get in a few hours of fishing last week. Tried out some new spots and they paid off. Had a great time with nice weather. I only used one bait, Johnson 1/2oz gold spoon. Just had to cast it, that's it. Looking forward to this week.
Great reports everyone. I live out of state these days and have not fished during the summer in a long time. I will be in Leeville this weekend and was wondering if it is worth my time to try and fish under the lights this time of year? Also, these trips are far and few between these days so any other advice for the area would be great. Thanks.
This one is not from Louisiana but it sure was fun. I would have much rather cleaned a white tail. Great trip and I could not even fit a pack of hotdogs in the freezer
Well I have not been to Louisiana since March but I just baught my ticket for this weekend so I need some help. I will be at my camp in Leeville by Friday morning and if you guys could be so kind as to let me know any places producing that will save me some time as it is limited. Thank You
Well I would rather be fishing in Leeville but since I am hunting in UT I can share these pictures. These are from a trail cam. about 9,000 feet. Season starts Aug. 15th
Little late on this report but I have been working too much. Fished the past two weekends in the Leeville marshes, because of the wind and rain, and did well. Two weeks ago we ran back and forth from the camp to the spot to avoid the rain and brought home some nice reds and trout. Last week we caught more fish but had to measure a few and only one red. Almost all the fish were caught on live.... Read More
I fly in Wednesday and go to Leeville Thursday for the first time in over a year. Because it has been so long any help on the area (GM to GI) would be well appreciated. I was looking online at Plastic baits and because of the price difference per bag, $2 to $6, I got to wondering, do you guys think there is any difference in plastic baits when fish are NOT in a feeding frenzy? I use the.... Read More
Eman or anyone else, any reports coming from this area. I have been out of state for a while so just wondering. Should be back by summer for good, until then I am going ice fishing saturday night. Last time I went is was -2 degrees, not much fun. I can't wait to be in Leeville again soon. Someone broke into my neighbors camp so my dad had to go build a fence around ours. If you see anyone.... The cost involved with reacting to something as oppose to acting on something is far more expensive. Not only with money but time; this is why insurace pays for wellness care. This is with everything in our country but I want to talk about land. Here are three pictures from google earth in Leeville where I started fishing about 7 years ago. I measured points that I know where they were when.... Read More
Anyone going through Leeville I sure could use a report on my camp. I am out of state and will not be back for a while. If you would email me if you are going to Leeville, GI, or Fourchon I will get you my number and maybe you can call with an update. My camp is on LA1, you have to pass it. Thanks again for the reports during the storm.
Well I am in Utah for this years hunt. I only have 4 days to hunt, that is the season, and I can only hunt one area of the state. However there are some big mule deer and thought I would share some scouting pictures with y'all.
Hey Guys I hope y'all are doing well as can be in this storm. I am glued to the internet but I can't find much info on Leeville. My camp is there and I live in Utah so I dont know what is happening. Any info on the surge or anything else I would be greatful for. Thanks, and good luck.
