My kids had a blast for Thanksgiving and the day after landing well over 200 trout (specks / whites). Most of the trout were throwbacks and the ones we were able to keep were just barely legal but with kids on-board who really cares. Most of the fish were caught less than 5 min from the landing (no early morn long boat run)so they had a blast!!!

Had great success with Capt. Jim Shanley fishing the Chicken Coop last Sunday in the thick fog. My son Ross and his friend Garrett (w/ broken arm) wore the slabs out all morning finishing a half day trip with 122 nics sacs. Thanks again Capt. for a great day on the water.

Nice Catch, bet they boys had a great time..
I'm looking for a place in Texas to make a good dove hunt if anyone could give me some info name, phone#, etc? I know I'm asking waaaay in advance of the season I just want to start calling for dates in 2011. I'd sure like to go where someone else has went and slammed-em. Thanks in advance!

Had the pleasure of making one of our annual trips to Toledo Bend with local guide Jim (Big Jim - Bo) Shanley. We left the dock Sat morning about 6:30 and headed to the brush piles. Our first two stops were normal picking up 10-20 at each but the third stop was ugly. We had Crappie coming up the sides four at at time at one point with no end in site. No oil offshore out of Pecan Island (yet?). Hope it stays away, sinks, burns, or gets eaten up by hardheads, sharks, and gafftop. There's plenty of them out there! We ended a beautiful day with only 30 trout but as you can see the seas were calm and the water was trout-green.

Caught a nice mess of slabs last Saturday at Toledo Bend. The bream killed us all morning but we ended the day @ noon with 70 fish over 10" fishing on the Texas side of the lake. I had my little boy Ross fishing with us and our guide Jim Shanely made sure that he caught plenty of fish "and he did".

We fished Saturday morning with local guide Jim Shanley in Toledo Bend and boy did we have fun. This is our third or fourth year fishing with Jim and we filled the chest again with 125 slabs for 12:00. Going again in three weeks, I can't wait!

The Swine Flu ran these girls out of school and straight to CoCodrie. These nice trout were caught Saturday just north of Last Island. The birthday girl Taylor, Sophie, and Kaylie were all tight-lining live Cocahoe Minnows on the bottom in about 8' of water. The girls were blistering the trout with four other boats around us not catching a thing! It's nice to be at the "right spot".... Read More

Bring on the dang winds we'll still go out and get-em! We fished down in CoCodrie Thur afternoon, Fri, and Sat morning and managed a few good trout. The largest was 22" with a couple of 19 & 20" to go with it. Although this one was caught before dark we did manage a few nice ones under the lights. The cold weather this weekend had most of the fish lock-jawed but the kids had a good time catching a few. I'll try again in a couple of weeks for the mother-load???

Fished Sat 6/14 with good friend and local Toledo guide Jim Shanley out of Toledo Tackle. We've been fishing with Jim for the last couple of years and it seems we never have a slow day. Jim took my son Ross and made sure he had the time of his life pulling in Sac after Sac. We ended the day with 125 Sacs, and a handful of bream and bass. Fished Sat & Sun with friend Doug Dorsey and kids Garrett, Taylor, Ross, and Caroline. Things started off slow Sat but we managed 76 trout and 4 flounder before ending our morning @ 11:30. Sun morning was a different story with the rain and winds slowing-up a bit for about 8:00am. Just a few pics from opening day in AL last weekend. We had a blast shooting mostly does and one young 8-point. Plenty of meat for the freezer! Thanks to some good friends I brought home a little meat also, I'll stick to fishing because I dang sure can't hit anything with a riffle. The boys in the pics are Brad, Eric, and Bennett.

Fished Sat-Sun with Capt. Calvin & Chad Dufrene out of Golden Meadow. This father and son team of captains are arguably the BEST IN THE BUSINESS. Just a few pics from our trip out of Verm Bay on Aug 12th. Our first stop was just outside of the pass catching trout almost every cast but "small trout".
