Hunted this am off of Little chapel road between Kaplan and Wright and we saw very few ducks, uwe usually do well this time of year back there, but nothing but one green wing drake. Drove to west down 14 and saw a few geese back to Lake Auther.
Seems like we should have more ducks than this.

Ran into two very angry hunters at a ville plate fueling station who got ticketed for hunting a rice field where the crawfisherman was checking his traps during the day and they were cited for a baited field. The paddle on the skiff is considered knocking rice down. Has anyone heard of such a thing before?
The rice fields we hunt are usually plowed up before the second crop heads out, but due to the wet weather they have not been able to plow up the fields and the second crop now has rice heads, full of it. The farmer has already cleaned his combines and will not harvest but will plow it up the first chance he has. Will these 500 acres be considered baited? He never harvest's a second crop i....
