went out today to help a friend brush his blinds, i know its kinda late but its a bitch when you own your own business. saw plenty of ducks, of which i was surprised. then went fishing in the bayou dupont area. 35 specks, 1 red, 1 drum. specks caught on green and purple and chaurtrese beetles. ran in just before the storm.

had my twin grand nephews with me this weekend. i wanted to put them on the reds (which we limited out last weekend), weather wouldn't permit it. the boys are 6 1/2, so when the weather cleared a little, we went to a deep hole for sail cats. the boys loved it boating 41. then we snuck to an other spot and boated 3 reds. good day for the boys!

two easy limits of reds this morning in lake salvador. pretty day out there today.

anyone has a clue where the new reef in lake salvador is? i heard all the guides are going there to limit out on reds.

i went to n.d. last year, for ducks,geese, and pheasants. i went to bowbells, near the canadian line. up there all areas are open to hunting, unless the farmer has section posted (section= 40 acres). it was like i went back 40 years with all that open land. e mail me back. gator glenn

went scouting around catouache friday, didn't see many ducks or poule deauxs there or around gulf canal. my buddy and i went fishing instead. ended up with 17 fresh water cats, a nice drum and 8 bass. we must have caught 40 reds with gold spoons and baby 1 minus - all were 14 -15.5'. had a great day in bayou perot.

I'm looking for a good goose call to send to a friend. he took me to north dakota, pheasant hunting and i had a blast.ponds were frozen so no duck or goose hunting although he had all the set ups (decoys, etc.), but no call. looking for a nice (wood?) call as a gift to him. any suggestions?

are they still catching sac au lait in cataouatche?
planning on going this weekend and know the spot.
