Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

The transition period continued last week as fishing out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel had it’s moments, good and bad. Once the wind eased enough on Wednesday I headed out to 4-piles and Casse-tete and stopped at Deep Bayou on the way back. Thursday I did the same route but in reverse order and caught Trout and Bull Redfish again. Most of the Specks were.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Fishing and catching conditions out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville are improving as the surface water temp rises. Activity at the fish cleaning station is also on the increase. I headed back down after the Sportsman’s Show and did not return until Sunday afternoon. Stayed busy with checking on the progress of the Leeville Boat Launch, ordering a new.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Louisiana Sportsman’s Show was outstanding this past late week and weekend. Had to be a record crowd and they were all treated to good food, fun, fair and products wither you fish or hunt. Well done Tony Taylor and crew. I worked the Renovations high tech display in the boat building. They had smart TVs at the front of all 4 of the Pathfinder models including.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Catching this past hitch was easy if you played the weather right. If the wind was not blowing and the gnats feasting, we again escaped to the Bay Marchand rigs just south of the barges off of Fourchon in the 1 block. When the wind was blowing enough to keep the gnats off, we fished the South Texaco Field just south of the Leeville Bridge. Live finger Mullet.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Fished Friday out of Boudreaux’s in Leeville with an old Bass fishing buddy. He purchased a new 2600HPS Pathfinder and wanted to do some running and fishing. He lives in Fla. and was in La. for Mardi Gras and had his new boat in tow. We had a light wind from the Southeast so we escaped the Gnats by running to Belle Pass. When we hit the Gulf surface water temp.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

We are still catching Redfish in the South Texaco Field out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville. The last two weeks was a mix bag of weather, especially with the most recent warm up, so I wondered if I should give up on the Redfish and go looking for Specks. The surface water temp at the beginning of this past hitch was mid to upper 40’s and on the coast.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

I was at my station at Boudreaux’s Friday cleaning up when I spotted Leeville regulars Mike and Kathy docking up. His 28 foot Gravois had two other couples in it and as he was tying up, I asked how they had done and they told me they had scratched. Mike and Kathy are from Prairieville and have always shared info with me. “Man you have to put me on some Reds,” he.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Fished Tuesday out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville and the Redfish were on again. Surface water temp started at 49.2 degrees and climbed to 58.5 degrees. Tide also cooperated as the low tide did not bottom out till 1130am, forcing the fish out of the ponds and into the deeper water in the canals. Water movement and nervous water was all over the.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

We fished out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel last Friday. When we got up Friday morning the tide was bottoming out and the second board on the dock bulkhead was showing. The northeast wind was still blowing hard enough to keep low water conditions despite the good tide range and a projected incoming afternoon tide. It was a sure fire Redfish day.

After.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Spent Thursday thru Sunday at Boudreaux’s Motel in Leeville pulling maintenance on the Pathfinder. Not many folks were fishing but the ones that did brave the rougher weather still caught fish. The nicer catches came on Thursday thru Saturday, the same days where it started to warm as the High Pressure moved away and the next front began to approach. Sunday was.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

The catching out of Leeville has slowed now that the water temp is steadily falling. Winter time fishing is here as are the winter time fishing patterns. On days when the north winds combine with a falling tide, we are still catching nice Trout and Redfish in the South Texaco field as the marsh drains. We have been working the nervous water around the cuts and.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

This past week’s fishing was influenced big time by the wind. We started the week off with strong southeast wind pouring in water especially on high tide. The building range in tide was enough to force water out of the full bowl in the morning hours of falling tide and when it did, the fishing was on. In the afternoon when the incoming tide took over, the fish.... Read More

vHello Again Cyber Anglers,

Pushed my guest back a day as the southeast wind ripped in advance of the Thursday afternoon and overnight rain. It looked like there would be a break between the rain band and the actual front passage late Friday. Never passing on an approaching front and falling pressure, my guest and I hit the sofa in the East Access Canal. The tide was falling, being pushed.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Fished Friday out of Boudreaux’s in Leeville. Was one of those great days as the decent tide range combined with a falling tide and gnatless. Started out in the east Access taking shelter from the still blowing Northeast wind. We then jumped to D’s in the South Texaco Field and then to the West Access. We were working Reds when the wind started to ease, it was.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Fishing yesterday was a little tougher but there were plenty of hungry fish. North wind combined with the falling tide and forced the water out. I sent the guys staying next to me out to Margo’s Point after showing them how to rig. They caught Trout, Reds and Whites. Sheldon and Kajun Kent went out to the marsh in the east and had their way with the Redfish..... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Fished Sunday out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville yesterday. A brisk north wind and falling tide forced me and my guests Gerald and Gayle and their son Casey, into the protected water of the East Access Canal cuts. The big pond was draining into the canal through all of the cuts all the way to the end of the canal. Schools of mullet worked the.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

Rain started last night and poured this morning but has now slacked. The sky to the north and west has gaps of blue sky and implies clearing. Yesterday afternoon the gang from Kentucky hit the Specks on the north side of Little Lake near the mouth of Bayou Blue. Specks continue to bite on the afternoon incoming tide. Still Mr. Full moon has been covered by the.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

The fishing and catching out of Boudreaux’s Waterfront Motel in Leeville has been great the last two days. We are catching an easy limit of reds in the morning on the falling tide, and a nice mess of Specks in the afternoon on the incoming tide.

We found the Redfish in the marsh between the West Access and Bayou Et Lee all the way to Bayou Blue camp.... Read More

Hello Again Cyber Anglers,

The cooler weather has certainly made fishing this past week nothing short of spectacular. Very few trout are still carrying eggs and the mass exodus from outside waters to inside canals, bayous and marshes continues. There are still a few big sows hanging from Calumet to Brush but their numbers are dwindling as large schools of Bull Redfish continue to.... Read More
