Headed up to west Tennessee Monday. My buddy has a great peice of land near Jackson TN. Got bou-cou deer and turkeys. I might try shooting one of them birds. Can I shoot one with a bow? Do I use my broadheads? There are so many turkeys there it's crazy. Seems like it would be too easy to shoot one with a gun. Just got my new pirogue this week. It's a Ron Chapman King with 2 spud holes just behind the seat. Got 2 cypress pirogue paddles from the factory too. This boat has 600lb capacity and only weighs 70 lbs. My daughter and I paddled it yesterday in an event called 'Paddle Bayou Lafourche'. We paddled 15 miles. Great boat. As I was walking into the sportsman's show last weekend, there was a booth set up to win a $500 gift card. I filled it out. My old one man Ron Chapman finally bit the dust. 25 years of hard work. I am going to buy a new one this week. I am torn between the 2 man cottenmouth or the 2 man king. Has anyone ever tried the two side by side? Is the king a beast to paddle? Just got an email from Mr.Vidrine the biologist for the South Farm Complex on Sherburne WMA. The crawfish season will start on March 15th again this year. Thats a Friday. I crawfish in the basin with deep water traps, but I still enjoy going out to the South Farm with some set nets (and a few traps) with my kids and their friends. How does the scam report work in the classified? If I see an obvious scam and flag it, what happens after that? I haven't looked at it for a while, and now I remember why. Such a shame. While walking off my stand this morning on a pipeline clearing, that had water over 3 feet deep, I came across a strange bunch of bubbles coming out of the ground. The water in Bayou Maringoin where my hunting club's at came up over 4 feet in the last few days. I went this morning to move my flat boat off the dock that's usually 4-1/2 feet out of the water so it wouldn't float away. I couldn't resist taking it for a spin in the woods down the atv trail. Even though the lillies were bad, the catfish were still biting on the noodle lines. Took a pic of the catch from the first pass, then quit taking pics. Made 3 passes with the same results as the 1st, then picked them up. Worked on my camp in between soak times getting ready for bow season. Yak makes a great noodle boat. Ran 15 lines, 3 times then cleaned fish. Maybe a possible new yak sport.... Read More

Filled my 120 gallon water tank today and I'm bringing it to my camp. Any recommendations on what to put in the water to keep it from getting nasty? I'm not gonna drink it. I'm just gonna shower and wash my hands with it. Bleach? Chlorine? I cleaned the tank real good then filled it with water.

Just wanted to share some information on a product that I recently tried. It's called tecnu extreme. Got it at Walmart. During work days and scouting trips on my deer lease I have tried numerous things to keep from contracting poison ivy rash. This product has done the trick for me. Buddy saw a bunch of cars on the side of the road on the way to Cypramore Point. There was a cub with a tracking collar. Said it looked like the Smokey Mountain National Park with all the attention. Everytime I see bears down there it's always in this spot. I think there's a dumpster nearby. I usually see them eating sugar cane.
