I'm in need of a bow stop for my boat trailer. No where in Morgan city has what I need. I'm thinking somewhere in Houma may have it. It's for a magic tilt trailer that holds a 19 foot bay boat. It's not the type that goes by the winch. It is free standing off the tongue area. I haven't been able to find this style online either. Any idea where I could locate this in the Houma area?
Has anyone been catching any sacalait in the morgan city area? In past years i have caught plenty by this time of year, but this year it seems like I can only manage one per trip. I fish mainly in the stephensville area and was wondering if the fish kill they had from the past hurricane may have something to do with it?
I lost a fishing rod out of my boat yesterday at aproximately 9:15am on LA 70 between morgan city and stephensville. The rod has sentimental value to me and there will be a reward for its return. you can contact me by email or on here and i can give you my phone number.
with all this warm weather we have had lately, are the bass starting to bed up in the shallower areas south of bayou black in the marshes or is it still too early yet?
went out to flat lake/bear bayou area tuesday and caught a few fish. mostly small sacalait. has anyone else been fishing that area since the water is going down? the water is really pretty right now and not dead like i thought it would be. I really want to catch some chinquapins and sacalait out there or any other place in the MC area. Thought about going towards the cheramie this weekend to try.... Read More
Can anyone recomend a decent place to stay on the island for 4 adults and 1 young child? I am looking at bridgeside. i have stayed there once with my fiancee and it was decend for us fishing, but would like a little more comfort because we have a young child with us.
thanks
went out to grand isle monday and it looked like it was going to be a good day. boy was i wrong. The wind wasnt blowing so i started out on the beach. water was super dirty and the waves were breaking hard. where the waves came from i dont know cuz it was dead calm. moved down to elmers island, same thing but much dirtier. hit the bridges and dirty water there also. by far the dirtiest water.... what are the effects of this cool front on the fishing on grand isle? I want to go out monday, but if the front will have them turned off then I can find other things to do. I know normallly the north wind lets the beach lay down and fishing is usually great, but that is later in the summer, not early. would like to get some feedback on this.
how bad do you think that this front will mess up the water and fishing in dularge? especially lake mechant and sister lake? thinking about making a trip monday, but money is tight and i dont want to go and be greeted with nasty chocolate milk water.
Where can i go online to get the safe boating certification? due to my work schedule i cant make it to any of the local courses. I have been in and around boats for most of my life and it sucks that i have my own boat now and have to take a course just to operate it. thanks for the help.
anyone fishing sulfur mine? Looking at making a trip there soon. also how is the water looking in lake mechant and the dularge area. any reports from decade? just looking to get out and catch some fish on my next days off if weather permits. was smoking them in dularge then the rain came.
I'm having some trouble catching fish in the sister lake/lake mechant area. never really ventured too far around the lakes due to my father not liking to take long rides in the boat. i need some general locations in these areas to try and catch fish. only managed 2 keepers tuesday afternoon. fished really close to grand pass. thanks.
can anyone tell me how the water looks around the beaches at grand isle, fourchon, or elmers island? looking at going out there monday and tuesday but want to make sure the water is clean with all this rain going on i dont want to go and have the water all muddied up.
thinking about going down to dularge tuesday afternoon/evening. is it worth going in the afternoon? i normally fish mornings only but with my work schedule i cant get out in the morning. usually i fish grand isle but dularge is alot closer and more convient, just longer boat ride to the coast. should i just run to grand isle or is dularge he place to go?
i checked the wlf website but I could not find the info i needed. i know it is recommended, but is it required to have a vhf radio on board when you go into the gulf to the close in rigs?
i've been hearing alot about these rigs and was wondering what is the easiest way to get to them. a little familiar with the dularge area but have only been down there inside during the winter. I would rather learn to fish these rigs than to ride all the way to grand isle. thanks
I've been getting skunked pretty regularly lately. I've been fishing the lake decade/falgout canal area lately and not catching. I wish point aux chene from the bank but island road is off limits. i just purchased a boat and i need some places to go below houma where i can catch fish right now. not looking for honey holes just looking for clean water right now. i've got the oportunity to fish 3.... i've got a few questions about the point au chene area. first off, is there a launch near humble canal in montegue to get to wonder lake?
second, I tried getting to the sulfur mine from pac marina, wound up high and dry. which canal off of the main bayou do I use to get to sulfur mine that has a decent amount of water in it? I used to fish the area from the bank but now i have a boat and i dont.... Read More
