WE had good weather the first part of the week and were able to get out to the trout and they were there and willing. I wish the weather would stabilize so we can get in a good run on the trout .

I have been laxed on reports lately but here is the last few trips this past week. SPECKLED TROUT! The spring fling is in trout nailing live shrimp under corks fished on points with moving water. Three in a row trips limited out . IT'S ON!

John Ledoux and son’s made the trip to Hopedale from Mobile AL on Friday for a day of fishing with his boy’s. The weather was perfect the first time in a week sunshine and light winds. Things started out slow just a few fish water temp was in low 50’s. Around 11 am we got on a good trout bite nice fish taking plastics under corks water temp was up the 59. The first split of duck season went pretty good not what we are used to but that’s hunting. Warm weather and the after affects from Hurricane Isacc definetly had a negative impact. But with that said we got out and hunted. Hunting smart hiding well and hunting late allowed us to make successful hunts. We averaged 3.9 ducks per hunter per effort the first split which was not bad 8 to 10 birds.... Read More

Sesaon off to slow start but I have been having sucessful hunts not limits but good hunts and lots of fun. Cold weather is what we ned to bring in some more birds. Ran some Blast and cast combo trips this past weekend and caught good numbers of speckled trout and some solid hunts too. Not a lot of birds but hunting smart and making the shots count. The fishing is on speckle dtrout catches are sloid with some reds and drum too. The last couple of weeks have been gret and should stay good or better. still fishing shallow undera cork with Campo live shrimp. Duck hunting too birs are spreda out but I have been doing pretty good in the mornings.

Fished last thursady and friday and did really good with the trout and some redfsih mixed in. Trout are on the inside live shrimp and plastic under corks was doing the damage. Great time of year to be out fiahing and hunting gotta love Louisiana.

Hunted opening weekend with my Daughter Sarah son Daniel and his frienfd Stewart.Opening mornig was a little slow 6 ducks but two were drake pintails that was nice. Sunday did a lot better in a different area 13 ducks mostly greys witha a few teal and a mottled. Great time though with the kids we also made a n afternoon fish on Saturday catching some trout for dinner. Great weekend. Hope these.... Read More

Al Mancuso and friends Put a smack down on the speckled trout yesterday in Hopedale LA. After several times something always’ got in the way of this group making a fishing trip things finally came together. Great weather and great day fishing with a full limit of specks.

Cold front blew in yesterday with stiff NW winds but that did not deter Walter and Dave from keeping their fishing trip planned as scheduled. I was a little worried about the winds but was willing to go and see what we could do. Good thing because it turned into a great trip. Ragsdale father and son’s crew in Hopedale from Georgia looking to catch some speckled trout. The last few times they have come fishing the wind as howling so we caught reds and drums few trout. Yesterday things lined up for them with some really nice weather and the filed the table up with speckled trout along with a few drums and reds too. Great trip with great guy’s and a great trip.

Hunted yesterday evening two blinds shot 16 teal. saw a lot more since Monday looks like the tide dropped to normal levels which is good we had way too much water and the front brought in some more birds. The weekend should be good.

Got back to fishing this weekend first trips since the storm. Lot of work the past 2 weeks getting the docks and camps back up and running. Fished Saturday and Sunday with some good catches of both trout and redfish. Saturday limits of reds with some trout and on Sunday got on some nice trout and redfish too.

Made my first hunt yesterday evening after the rain. Tide real high sawa few teal shot one. Nota lot around hopefully the tide will fall out with this cool front and bring some birds into the area. will be back after them wed.

Walter, David and Jeff teamed up and fished with me yesterday and slammed the speckled trout. Non stop action fronm the first cast to the last with live shrimp under corks till the limit was in the box. Fished for reds on the way in caught and released bunch of rat reds all under 16 inches

Yesterday morning Walter,David and Jeff fished with me and slammed the speckled trout. Non stop action from the first cast to the last filling their limit of speckled trout along with 3 heads. Fished for reds on the way in and caught a bunch but all rat reds under 16 inches.
