Saturday I decided to head out to deep water (blue water way to far out right now) and try our luck at finding some rig donkeys. Needless to say we were very successful. Just to top it off, on the way in we hit a shrimp boat pushing in about 350' of water and were able to top off the fish box with 6 large blackfin. What a trip!

Does anyone know if the La WLF is responsible for opening and closing the federal fishing areas? I'm just curious why more and more state waters are opening but the federal closings still stretch so far to the west. I'm just so anxious to go snapper fishing but just can't convince myself to run 50+ miles to the west southwest.
