My map does not sho Gulf Canals in Salvador and Texaco canals in Lafitte. Before I purchase would like to see what I am getting not cheap.
Been having some health problems for a month got back on the water with my son. After watching the Bass Masters at TB we had to go for bass. A great idea the bass were on fire. We also had a few reds. Buzz bait and worm were the two baits they wanted. Boy sure did miss fishing. Keep the small ones and throw the big one back.
Home with a health problem tried to watch the Bassmaster's on TB for the last 4 days. Been going to TB for over 50 years and have seen it go down and down. Louisiana got some unbelieve good news from this event everyone of the fisherman were in praise of the bend. When you here best fishing lake over and over you have to feel fisherman will want to come. This is the good news now the bad....
Yesterday did something I have been trying to do for many years. Caught what I call the grand slam of coastal fishing. Bass, trout, reds, catfish and Flounder. All done before 11am in Lafitte. All on plastic.
Just pulled up the weather and we have another coastal flood warning. Boy we have had more so far this year than in all of last year or maybe the last 5years. Flooding again wow. Should have all the salt water we need for shrimp crabs and trout for sure.
To day we dodged rain and fought high wins for a great day of Fishing in Lafitte. It was not easy as fighting winds is no fun and you better see Ben for a good trolling motor. Can't remember last time I fished without strong winds and white caps/ Remember Don the outdoor man said no big trout in Lafitte.
I just drove over the spillway and it looks like it is wide open flood water all over. If the lake comes back this year then no problems for the future never saw so much water. Last week we had floods in BR now the high river.
Please no post about keeping bass this only old times here. Can remember as a kid use to go to city park on our bikes from the Irish Channel. Was told they had 25miles of water shore line. They would close the park for several weeks when Eddie found them bedding. Over the years catching 20 bass was no problem you could only keep 3. Joe Buck was the band director at the school near the park and....
Some 40 years ago I moved to Baton Rouge and was made fun of for being a saltwater fisherman. Said my 7 ft rods were a joke and needed 5 2 rods for fishing. Comments like those slimy fish will never ride in my boat and anyone can catch those fish. My bass boat will never go in saltwater. The classic was more popular than LSU football recruiting day. I think had a weigh in at the Dome. False....
Bass fishing in the spring is so much fun. Problem is you can't get a room on most lakes like TB. Over 60plus years of fishing I have found that dog woods start the bite and the purple flower is the end.
I am the first to throw darts at companies that don't perform. Garmin just sent me a note that I had to update my map on my GPS. I have windows 10 and for some reason the PC and GPS would not hook up. Called Garmin and in no time had my updates. No waiting on the phone or other BS. I register my products with my Garmin info and when I call they knows all they need to know this is great. ....
There is major flood control work being done NW side of little lake and what the locals call Temple. Be careful it iis well marked with buoys but plenty of place to get in trouble. Fishing was slow muddy water all over the place due to rain, high river and this work.
http://www.wwltv.com/videos/news/local/2015/06/22/15371877/ Sounds like they will open the spillway this week. Without MRGO lake may have a problem. If they open we will now see the results of the closing of the MRGO and to much fresh water. No more guessing if they open the spillway the results will speak for themself.
For the past few years fog has not been a problem for me. But this year the fog has been a major problem. Seems like the worse the fog the faster some want to drive their boats. With heavy fog I see no reason to go faster than just on plane. Several weeks ago was fishing and out of now where this guy pulls up to our boat. He was very upset and lost and wanted directions to home port. Told him....
For the past 45 years we have been taking a summer vacation to the pan handle of Florida. Our boat is always with us great area to water ski and fish. We also had a son that was in the Navy and stationed in Pensacola and visited many times. Over the years every one of my 3 sons has caught a 7 pound trout with in site of the condo we are staying in. Great top water action and no matter the....
Don't check the river as they may have to open the spillway. Remember when the crawfish use to walk over the roads well this year maybe again. Never saw the Mississippi this high at this time. Crawfish should be all over the area.
