Just finished building my new two-man 'High Chair' deer stand. It came out NICE! Now I need some camp netting to hang around the shooting rail.
Boy, did Conan O'Brien stink up the Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner. I really expected him to be funny. But was greatly disappointed. Obama was better then O'Brien. It was probably the first time ever I enjoyed listening to him.

March and April are my favorite times for scouting on my deer lease. I'm in a ten-man club with a 900 acre lease on a pine tree plantation. Our only hardwoods consist of a 50 yard wide swath bordering an intermittent creek bed that bisects the property.

A question for deer clubs in St. Helena. The deer population on our lease just North of Greensburg seems to be way down this year. We have a dozen trail cameras out and are not getting many pictures, even at night. Is anyone else in the area experiencing the same thing?

As September approaches I begin to feel the tug of deer season. It's still TOO DARN HOT, but there are trails to clear, stands to check, food plots to bush hog, and all of the stuff that goes along with those activities. How many of you guys will be at the hunting lease next weekend sweating your butt off in anticipation of the hunt?
