Opinions & Responses in Louisiana
Some of you on here grew up watching Ali and I'm sure close to all of us saw Tyson progress through his career. Age old question, if both were in their prime, who do you think would win??

Had this conversation with a group of guys yesterday and some very good points were made. Just curious to see what you all think.

Made a trip to bayou black Monday and Tuesday. Monday afternoon hunt had some action but nothing to get too excited about. We saw plenty of ring necks, 1 woody, and a few big ducks flying high. Best part of this hunt were the two banded geese. They were actually going to decoy before we shot, but they did not get the chance. By the time we shot, they were 30 feet away from us. We thought they.... Read More

Inshore Fishing in Louisiana
I have heard from two different people that a new law was being discussed about life jackets. They must be worn by all occupants while the boat is under power by the main engine(s). This applies to all boats under 26 ft.

Whether this is true or not, what are your thoughts?

I am on both sides of the ordeal. Saves lives, but can become a hassle.

I can also see (big.... Read More

I plan on putting a large food plot in a field at my camp. I have zero experience with starting one from scratch. The only ones i have messed with were existing plots....Got a few Questions:

The grass will be about 3 feet tall by the time i get the chance to plow it. I will bush hog it before i plow, but i was wondering if after i bush hog it, if i should spray to kill all the existing.... Read More

Im not sure if i have been living in a cave the past 6 months or not, but i just learned a few days ago that you can now spotlight hogs and use silencers. Definitely something i will look into. Of course you have to pay good ole uncle sam 200 big ones for the tax stamp.

Hunting in Louisiana
In the past i had a connection with getting corn right from the barges. I would get middled, but i didnt mind it because it still came out cheaper than buying from Academy. Anyways i lost that connection over the past few years and have just been buying the corn from feed stores and other places. I just got some new land this past two months and want to see whats out there so this year i plan on.... Read More

Hunting in Louisiana
Just bought a camp in the Lake verette/Bayou Crab area. Carpenter bees are literally everywhere. Not so much in the camp, but im sure they are in the siding. They fly all over the property also.

Wondering a couple of things:

Do they sting? Worked out there for a few days and never had any problems with them, but i just want to double check. Even swatted a few.

Any ideas on how to get.... Read More

Fishing in Louisiana
Been doing a lot of thinking lately about all you guys and how much fun an actual fishing tournament would be. if there is one put on by the sportsman, i am unaware of it.

If i or a volunteer were able and had the time to organize something in the warmer months in grand isle, would anyone be interested in that?

I dont know about prize money and all of that stuff. A lot of details would.... Read More

Got my 9 point back from the Taxidermist. I noticed everyone has been asking about taxidermist, so heres my experience. I am very pleased with the mount and the pricing. The mount was done by Lonnie Adams in Napoleonville.

Deer Hunting in Louisiana
Iv'e searched the internet for this question and really didnt find much information about it. I was wondering if anyone knows about how many does dose the average, healthy, mature buck breed in a season? It may sound like a far fetched question for some, but i know there are a few people on here that do research on deer herds. If you have your own place and manage it well, it just seems like a.... Read More

Hog Hunting in Louisiana
Photo Album
A few people asked to post pics so here you guys go. I only took three pictures. This hunt was the last weekend of October about 20 minutes outside Natchez. The hogs out there are ridiculous. Probably saw around 50 hogs throughout the weekend. Ended up shooting 6 or 7 and my brother took a nice doe with his bow. Any body want to guess a weight on the bigger hog? Definitely the biggest one i ever.... Read More
