We hunted Big Lake WMA this past weekend I shot this little 150 LBS. spike at about 6:30 friday morning. I sit in my stand till about 10:30 hoping a doe would come through and give the guys in the woods around me some hunting time before I stirred the woods up coming in to retrieve the deer with my bike. Dropped my nephew off for school this morning in Natchez, and on my way back this girl was standing behind subway right up in the middle of town eating on some kudzu.
does anyone have any info on Concordia W.M.A. not to be confused with Bayou Cocodrie it shows up on mapping on the computer and my phone, it can be pulled up under state parks but I can find no info about it I called the state office and they said they believe its federal I called the Bayou cocodrie office in Ferriday and they said they have never heard of such a place. the bite started off good yesterday morning but as it got closer to noon the fish got 'lockjaw' but no complaints on our end it was probally time to go home to the wife and kids so we could 'live to fish another day!'

Had a pretty good morning fishing for the sac's caught them all fishing a black/chartreuse jig on a short line in about 1-2 ft. of water. final count was 43 sacs, 4 cats, 1 bass, and 1 bream.

have any of you guys out there used swacker broadheads? if so how did they shoot and cut? I know a lot of you out there use rage, but I heard that swacker cuts a bigger hole. any input or info would be appreciated.

I overslept a little this morning and got to the stand a little later this morning with my little man. Seeing a picture of a buck like this kinda gets the blood flowing wondering what the future season has in store for you. Lets be reasonable now I know it probally is nothing remotely close to this but it sure would be nice wouldn't it.

107 crabs in the traps and the best thing is I didn't have to bait or run the traps! Pops nephew called him and said if he wanted to come help run the traps he could have the crabs. So all I had to do was boil them when pops made it back to Concordia parish with them. Oh and the boys liked playing with them I think even more so than eating them. If you read this 'D' thanks they were delicious.

new paint job on the public boat ramp on the Tensas River. There should be no way anyone can forget to put on their life jackets, even if they can't read!
Made a trip to Old River, Deer Park yesterday to try and catch some perch. caught the 35 we caught about 12 ft. deep on black /chartreuse tube jigs tipped with chartreuse 'crappie nibble' they would not hit the jig without it or so it seemed. All in all not a bad trip in my book we did better than I thought we would since the River is supposed to be on the rise.

Hard to get the big ones to bite topwater baits this morning and yesterday morning.I caught one 4 lber. on Wallace Lake yesterday and we boated 9 more pound to a pound and a half fish. This morning we had I think 1 fish boated on a frog and boated the rest of our fish on spinnerbaits and crankbaits but there wasn't much size to them. Haven't been fishing for a while, so me and my bud hit the water early this morning hoping to get some topwater action. I caught some really nice fish on a SPRO frog and lost a 5-5 1/2 lber and then I lost my frog to the next fish that hit it, I guess I should have retied sooner! we swithched over to spinnerbaits and bandit crankbaits and boated some smaller fish. Where'd you catch them? Not a bad morning at all.
went fishing in Tensas River two days ago, and came upon a very ugly thing. I came upon a bunch of nets stretched across the river and dead fish floating all over the majority of them being spoonbills and a about a 7 ft. dead alligator.

That a bandit crankbait? lol they Bandits can catch....
Me and my buddy T.J. despite the chance of rain and the winds decided to go to the river and give the perch a try. GLAD we did!!! We tied the boat off to a tree and from about 3:30 until we left we were steadily pulling them in. They weren't really big fish they were about hand size, and every now and then we would boat a good one. Our final count for the day was 93. Not a bad catch in my book.
