The turkeys have kicked it into high gear in my area. They are definitely breeding hens right now. I got this gobbler on my trail cam this morning. There were more turkeys to the right of this video.
If they open the flood gates in the Morganza Spillway, it could really affect the turkey hatch in Sherburne & surrounding areas. Hens normally find low, thick areas to nest and if they open those gates, all of the nests in these areas will be destroyed.

April 15 to May 15 is about normal from what i have read....
Does anyone have any information as to how the turkey season dates are determined. What time of the year do they meet to decide this? I am so disappointed in the turkey season dates this year. I don't understand why our season is so short compared to other states. I wish that we could have an additional week added to the beginning of the season for bow hunting only. Does anyone know what the name of this plant is? They call it 'Bird Eye' but I'm sure that's not the official name?

Check out this 492 Inch Whitetail that is being raised in Iowa, it has a hard time even holding his head up when he walks. This is ridiculous. Skip to the 7 minute mark to see him.
