Thick trout caught near marsh island today. Windy. All trout had shrimp in them. We caught on plastics and popping cork. Caught one that had a broken tail at one time. It was short but the thickest fillets. Everyone we spoke to caught reds.

Avery canal, trash pile have clean water and the specks have moved in. Lots of white trout also. Reds are all along the rocks at cypremore and marsh island. Ther are some birds working out there over the shrimp. If you want to catch 2 fish run over there real fast and get'em. I saw a large black bear crossing a plowed cane field on my way home from cypremore point today. I thought someone had lost a cow cause there was no fence around the field. Then I thought maybe a giant dog. But I just lumbered along like a bear walks. My copilot looked at me and asked if I saw what she saw. Sure thing. I have seen other black bears in the wild and this was a big one.

Wind in big letters. There are fish here but next Saturday might be better moon phase and hopefully less wind. Most people had a few fish but no limit that I could see.

Ain't got no boat. Rutherford beach surf was like standing In chocalate milk Saturday. East wind all week does that. Pulled back to rockefella refuge and caught crabs like going out of style. Cool thing is so many trashy people don't pick up after themselves and the lines and bait are left in th water. Just brought a net and had fun. Caught 6 crabs in a scoop once. 7 dozen in about an hour.

Went to rutherford beach Saturday and did some surf fishing. Caught a 3 foot black to shark first thing. Many bull reds on the beach now around 30 pounds or so. Kept one28' to eat. All caught on cut mullet and croakers caught on the side of the road. Water was pretty clean and the surf fishing should be good for the next couple of weeks. And plenty of crabs too.

Great fishing in Henderson until last week. Must have drained 5 feet out of lake to killla the hydrilla. Someone needs to drag me to a body of water where this technique has been effective and stick my face in it. I have learned to fish grassy lakes and the fish like it too. All ya have to do to fish there is watch for the current line on the water that passes around those little islands and drift out until the water depth gets to 6,7 or 8 feet and anchor.
