I plan to do some crawfishing this year. I bought 2 dozen pillow traps just to get started. Its a hobby that should yield me my favorite food. I have run pyramid and pillow traps in crawfish ponds in the past, never too successful with the pillow traps. I'm going to be crawfishing deep water in the basin. I want to take some friends crabbing that are from out of state. One of them is very pregnant so I don't know if I want to put them in the boat. Here is my question.. Is anyone catching crabs at Marsh Island or do I have a better chance crabbing around Rockefeller/Price Lake road? If I go to Rockefeller we will crab from the bank which is preferred.. Any input from you guys?

I need some help and or advice. I have a Go Devil surface drive with 18hp vanguard. When running wide open for more than 5 mins, the choke kicks/pulls out and kills the engine, I push the choke back in and I am back up and running. What would cause this to happen? I need some help here, my 90hp Merc surges at 1300 rpms and shoots up to 1700rpms. This can be dangerous because you could lose your footing when the motor surges.. Any suggestions? Pull your carbs and make sure they dont have any gunk in....
I know the rules for carrying my firearm in my vehicle but what about in the boat? Can it be concealed or does it have to be visible? Is a boat treated the same way as a car in Louisiana with regard to carrying my firearm?

I cant count the number of times I have been stopped by....
Can anyone give me any input on Carolina Skiffs. The good, the bad, the ugly? Anything. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 19ft Carolina Skiff DLX. I mainly fish the marsh, Vermilion bay, and would like to venture out Southwest Pass, will this boat do it for me?

Ok guys, I just got my boat fixed and I really want to pick up some specks around Vermilion bay. I am limited to the marsh and the mouth of Avery, Oaks, Boston Canals. My boat cant handle rough water at all and I dont have the balls to venture far out into the bay. Has anyone had any luck catching any specks near the marsh or at the mouths of these canals? Trout are being caught near the mouth of the avery....
Does anyone have any experience with this black powder rifle, CVA Wolf .50 Cal Black Powder? A guy I work with offered me his for $50 with all pyrodex powder and sabots, everything I need to hunt tomorrow. For the price I dont think I can go wrong, but wanted to ask if anyone had any good or bad comments about this rifle. Please let me know,

Hey guys, I am looking for some information about where I can catch live bait such as shrimp, mullet, croakers? I have searched this area for a weir but havent found anything yet. Can anyone point me in the direction of some specks? I am willing to travel anywhere in Louisiana.. I have a 16ft bass boat so I cant exactly handle the rough seas. Does $$ really make a big difference in a fish finder. Does anyone have any suggestions on a fair priced fish finder. I have come across several in the $100 range but don't see much of a difference in the technical specifications of each unit that justify spending $300-$400. Big thanks to Capt. Bennett Guidry and Cain Biessenberger for an outstanding bow fishing trip. We pulled an all-nighter out at Pointe Aux Chenes, and got 3 limits of nice sized Redfish and a few Sheepshead. Water was clear for the most part and all fish were shot in less than a foot of water. This was my first bow fishing trip but it definitely wont be my last, I am hooked!
