The fishing in Bayou Bienvenue is in full swing. I fished with Phillip and Brett yesterday and fount fish at every stop. We fish the marsh and ledges in the ICW and caught a mixture of Specks, Reds, Bass, and a Flounder as well.

The fish we caught were full of small shrimp and minnows. We caught our Specks on Fin-S lures, TKO Shrimp, and Zoom Flukes Carolina rigged and The Reds, Bass,....  Read More

I'm posting this report in remembrance of my dear friend John Gremillion who always asked me to write up the reports whenever we fished together.

This box of trout is for you my brother! I'll never forget you.

I'll keep it short and sweet. It's been a couple months since I've fished but the fish are biting off the road in Grand Isle in 6-10 feet of water hanging around....  Read More

After trips to Delacroix the last couple of months, I decided to head south to my second home. It felt good to be down there and the fish cooperated too!

David, Javier, and I caught all of our fish today at my go to roadside spot right before the island. We cast netted shrimp, pogies, mullet, croakers, and pinfish and they all worked equally good. We fished only on the bottom in about 6-8....  Read More

Inshore Fishing in Delacroix Island in Southeast Louisiana
Quick report

Fished with John Gremillion aka Holy Mackerel and his girlfriend Missy Tuesday and we caught our limit of trout fishing fienne and skippy both under a cork and on the bottom.

It was the first time I had fished in weeks and it felt great! He always does a great job of putting us on trout and Tuesday was no exception.

Pretty soon I will be fishing Grand Isle....  Read More

Fished with John 'Holy Mackerel' and my girlfriend Rebecca out of Myrtle Grove ahead of the front Friday evening.

Of course my buddy put us on a good bite reaching a quick limit of 75 Trout. We had my girlfriend Rebecca with us, although exclusively a hunter she figured it out pretty quickly and did her share of filling the box. Our next trip is going to be out of John's home,....  Read More

Had a great time fishing yesterday with my good friend Captain Scott Walker. My girlfriend and I met up with Capt. Scott at 06:00 a.m. at the Rigolets Marina and were on the water by 6:45.

With the horrible conditions, he decided to fish a dead end canal near the marina with swim baits and matrix shads on 3/8 ounce jigheads.

We stayed on the trolling motor moving up and down the....  Read More

Gotta make this one short. Sorry guys!

The Bayou Bienvenue locks are still CLOSED as of 11/20/2013.

Got off work at 6:00 a.m. and met up with Dr. Bob Weiss at chef marina to fish the normal Bayou Bienvenue spots. Been awhile since we have been out here so we didn't know what to expect.

First spot we fished was a pond off the ICW which has always been good to me but there....  Read More

I think we fount the shellpad in Lake Ponchartrain everyone keeps talking about! It's 24 miles long.

Met up with Doc and Ricky Trahant at Bonnabel boat launch for 6:00 a.m. and hopped on board Ricky's gorgeous 24 foot Bay Champ and headed out to the state's largest reef.

It was real real foggy this morning which made for an awesome fishing environment. We fished midlake from....  Read More

Gotta make this a quick report sorry in advance.

My buddy David is getting married soon and recently took a charter trip out of Grand Isle and unfortunetly did not catch a single fish that day a couple of weeks ago. He asked me to take him and his buddy Javier down to the isle to do a little roadside fishing. I said sure, no problem.

We met up at my house around 3:00 a.m. and were....  Read More

Today I got the opportunity to fish with Ashton Meyers who is one of my followers from LAS and Facebook. Ashton has asked me to take him out on his boat and show him the ropes a few times but for one reason or another I never had the chance to. Well he asked me last night and I had no other plans so I said sure why not.

The fishing in Bayou Bienvenue had went from hot to inconsistent the....  Read More

What a picture perfect day of fishing today!

I fished with my good friend Doctor Bob Weiss today in Bayou Bienvenue. We met up around 6:30 a.m. and launched his 24 ft. Bluewave with the intention of showing no mercy to the population of trout swimming around looking for their next meal.

As daybreak approached, we idled up to our super secret spot (the wall) and I dropped anchor in....  Read More

Yes I know, it's been awhile since I have posted a fishing report.

I got tired of getting flamed by certain individuals for posting too many reports.

Well I keep getting emails and messages from people saying they miss my reports so I will start posting more.

Here are my three most recent fishing trips and a little info and advice for each.

Awesome day on the water in Hopedale today! Had the pleasure of fishing with family friend Stephen McStravick while he was in town from Tennessee. In a couple weeks, Stephen is leaving to go to Washington D.C. for an internship with the Senator of Tennessee and I wanted him to leave Louisiana with fond memories so why not take him on an adventure with Phillip and I?

We arrived at our spot....  Read More

Hey all, hope all is well.

I have been getting dozens of emails about how to set up the 'Rucker Rig' so I decided to post a link here with an article I did awhile back on how to set it up and use it effectively.

There is a video at the bottom of the page so you can watch how I pop the bait off the bottom..

06/10/2013 Lake Ponchartrain Report

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with my good friend Doctor Bob Weiss who is also known as 'Doc'. Phillip and I met him at the launch at 6:00 a.m. and were greeted with a stiff SW wind which kinda had us worried because the lake was rough but we decided to give it a shot in Doc's 24 foot bluewave.

We arrived to our destination and surprisingly got....  Read More

05/28/2013 Lake Ponchartrain Report

Yes I know we were crazy for fishing the lake yesterday. Out there it was exactly like you are imagining it would be. The winds were strong strong strong and the lake was ROUGH to say the least. With all of that said, the water was beautiful!

On my way to Slidell, I stopped to see my buddy Mr. Tony at BAIT INC. and picked up 75 live shrimp. After which I....  Read More

05/22/2013 Hopedale Report

As most of you know, the MRGO rocks in Hopedale have been on fire. Had to go see for myself. I hadn't been to Hopedale since last fall so I was certainly looking forward to fishing out there. Phillip, Chase, and I arrived at BSM around 6:00 A.M. and were running down the spoil canal by 6:30.

We arrived in the MRGO and immediately fount gulls diving. After about a....  Read More

05/08/2013 Grand Isle Bank Fishing Report

Incredible Incredible Incredible!
The stars must have lined up perfectly because The fishing in Grand Isle today was awesome. Arrived at coastal bait around 6:30, picked up some beautiful live shrimp and headed to the honey hole. Light winds had the gnats eating me up but it didn't matter to me. I was by myself and at peace. A new moon coming up,....  Read More
