I am going to try something totally different this coming deer season. I have always shot factory ammo but started reloading this spring. I am going to try some hard cast ammo in my 44 magnum super redhawk. Anyone else here shoot cast bullets? I had to learn what meplat means.

Help needed. I have been told that if you are catching red snapper there should be amberjack there too. Is this true? If so, how do you get them to bite? Does it take live bait? I typically fish the West Delta 70 block south area. Is this deep enough for amberjack?

Actually the opposite is true if you are catching AJ you....
Well hunting season is over and I am pulling the boat out for some fishing. I have been fishing offshore last couple of years but only fished rigs for whatever was biting. I want to try my hand at tuna and wahoo. How far out of Grand Isle can you find either one? What is the best trolling speed and baits to try? Has the lump turned on this year? I bought some 44 Mag. Buffalo Bore ammunition for my pistol and planned to used them this hunting season. I went to the range today and could not get the empty case out of the barrel after each shot without using a screwdriver. Any ideas on what I can do to stop this from happening? I really wanted to use these rounds for deer hunting. It is the 270gr sp ammo from Cabela's.

Sounds like pressure problems. I wouldn't use them....

How many handgun hunters do we have in Louisiana? I saw some reports last year that were tough on handgun hunters. I agree the gun used (9mm auto I believe) is not the best choice but archery hunting used to have the same stigma. I have attached the tools of my choice and some results. Has anyone had any experinence with the halo sights by Burris or Bushnell? I am thinking about putting one on one of my pistols I hunt with. I have trouble with handgun scopes on deer at less than 20 yards and trouble at greater than 50 with the plain iron sights. I was thinking the halo sights would be a compromise.

I do not see reports on here about handgun hunting. Does anybody out there hunt deer with a handgun in Louisiana? How many people would be interested in a handgun hunting season included with the primitive weapon season proposed for next year that would allow the pre-1900 single shot rifles.
