I live in the Baton Rouge area and want to get an older rifle re-blued.... I don't want it cold blued..... Does anyone know someone that does this and a approcimate cost to get a rifle done? It's a Ruger M77.

This past Friday I saw an 8 point chasing a doe... Bam, Deer Down... Then Monday I had 2 bucks chasing a doe.... Bam, 2nd 8 point down.... Now the season is closing tomorrow with the deer in Full Rut... Still don't think our season needs to be changed in the Northern Part of the Morganza Spillway????

We hunt in the spillway and we still haven't seen any rut activity.... We pulled the cards on cameras yesterday and we still have pictures of bucks feeding together..... We just saw the first scraping activity about 3 weeks ago... I don't think our deer will be rutting till February and March!! It sucks not being about to hunt the rut like everyone else!!!!!

Guys in the Southern part of Area 6, don't get excited...... I know our season starts way too early..... This was something proposed by David Moreland several years ago and was shot down... How do you guys feel about this??

This is a game camera picture...... Hogs will hurt deer hunting in more ways than one!! We many pictures of multiple hogs in Morganza Spillway 3 miles north of I-10... One picture you can count 18 hogs in the picture and the only thing on the ground was a mineral block trying to get deer pictures, not hogs... It's pretty bad in our area!!

I just bought a new shotgun for home protection and the first thing that I did was pull the plug and load it with 6.... I make frequent trips to my hunting lease and wanted to carry it when I go out in the woods...we have plenty of pigs. Can I carry 6 in it when there is no open deer season??

Mike - about the only reasoning I can come up with is....
Working on a platform in the Gulf of Mexico in the Green Canyon area..... for the past 4 to 5 days, beautiful water, plenty of Tuna jumping, plenty of bait fish.... Seen several Marlin around the platform.... if you aren't out here, your missing out!! Big Tuna Are Here!!!!

Has anyone tried to can deer meat?? I started doing this about 3 years ago and absolutely love it!! I have about 25 pints, 15 1/2 pints put up for use this year!! The Oil Spill hasn't affected the Green Canyon area.... I work at the Marco Polo and the game fish are aplenty!! We've been seeing Blue Marlin busting the water, Bull Nose Dolphin regular, big schools of Yellow Fin busting everything in site. Beautiful water, we can see over 100' down into the water and no sign of the oil spill! I'm not a big fisherman, but I can give a report!

A friend of mine killed this great buck at Sherurne this morning with his cross bow... this is his first deer taken with this bow.... Congrats Floyd Coye!!!

I hunt next to Sherburne and I also work offshore. I've been out for the past 12 days and I'm getting to come home tomorrow.... When I left, we killed a couple of bucks, but they were not in rut yet.. No swollen necks, the glands in the legs weren't swollen and the bucks were still running together. Can anyone tell me if they are seeing signs of the rut yet?? We are running out of time!!!

Just flew in from offshore and took a stand in the evening. Wasn't on the stand 45 minutes with this beast came walking by. We never had pigs before, but started seeing them last year.. we're in trouble! We border Sherburne WMA.

These deer were filmed at BASF in Geismar La. You can see the plant in the back ground of several of the pictures. You can also see fences and roads in them. There is one big 'ole boy. I saw similar pictures last year of deer inside the plant. Before anyone gets any ideas, you won't be able to hunt them. They are well taken care of! Let me start by saying that I'm planning on doing everything legal..... I heard several guys say that they wasn't going to tag their deer incase they wanted to take another doe at the end of the season if they don't kill a buck. Can anyone tell me what the fine is and if they'll lose any hunting privileges?

This was an awsome buck that was taken yesterday by my friend in West Baton Rouge Parish. Congratulations Bronson. It was 18" wide 8 point and it weighed 235#. Don't be jelous...it was his time. He put in the time and it finally paid off!
