Going to make a a cast and blast trip next week. Can anyone tell me an area that will let me get my 1648 flat with a 40hp outboard in and have decent shot of hunting? Went and scouted today at Big Branch. I dragged the pirogue about a half mile to launch, and paddled into an area that looked promising. I did not see ONE bird. I then drove down Lake Rd and still di not see a bird. Did I miss something or is this usual for BB?
I need a pirogue or two for hunting Biloxi. I ave 1648 flat with a 40 outboard and plan to hunt me and another adult. I am weighing the option of getting two singles or one two man. Any ideas?

I would say two one man rouges are a lot better than one....
I am looking to purchase a boat that I will be able to hunt and fish from. I can I only afford one, so buying two is not an option. I would like something that will allow me get out to Biloxi WMA safely. I have never been, but I am hoping that someone who has can give me advice. So I am reading through the LDWF regulations and Im trying to figure out how to do some hog hunting in Pearl River WMA. I understand you can take a hog with what ever is legal for that season. So that leaves gun deer season and squirrel season. Well it says Spring squirrel season does not allow hog hunting. Then I read a 'properly licensed hunter' can take a hog from Oct-Feb. For the past 5 years I have been hunting hogs until the....
Going to hunt Pearl River WMA in a few days. Everyone helped out so much with providing info on getting the woodies, now I want to spend one day after the other ducks. I noticed there arent many pond marshes that are easily accessed. Would I throw my decoys out on the little cuts coming out the river or do I need to get to those really shallow ponds? Any info would help. Thanks.

So I have only been duck hunting a handful of times in my life, and I was reading it is good to start learning the ropes by hunting wood ducks early in the morning. Im plan on hunting in the spillway this month. I am looking at there website and it says I need an additional permit to hunt there. I keep calling the number provided and searching the website, where is this permit at? I plan on shooting ducks if that matters. Thanks in advance.

corps of engineers gives out the permits for the spillway.....
Does anyone know where I can get out and do some target shooting with my shotgun? I live by the spillway. I know I can hunt and shoot a gun there but I cant shoot trap. I went and shot at the South La gun club a few weeks ago. If Im not a member it cost $10 for a 25 trap round. Its too much for me. I also found a place in Belle Chasse but I have never been yet. I plan on heading to GI this weekend early in the morning for some surf fishing. I also plan on buying that float net thing from Academy with the rod holder for 20. My GF will wear a inflatable PFD.
