I was hunting Kisatchie Thanksgiving morning and right after I got in my stand I saw a doe coming in. She got to within about 50 yards and and I made a little noise and she looked right at me and took off. I said how are you supposed to kill these things. Cade Nichols got his first squirrel, he killed it in Sieper swamp Oct. 10th. Cade killed his prize with a 20 gauge shotgun and has since killed a couple more. I just bought a 45-70 at Academy for 229.99 its a CVA and it looks very good. I got a Tradition 3x9 scope and ammo all for 348.77 out the door price, bore sighted and everything. Do yall think this is a very good deal.

After getting a doe with my crossbow I got one with a muzzleloader. Then on I got this nice buck for me at least with my rifle. My son and I killed two deer sunday. He got the five point and I got a doe. I killed mine about 8:45 and we were texting each other about mine when the buck chasing two does came by his stand. He dropped his with 12 gauge slug and I got mine with a smokepole both came out of Kisatchie National Forest.No corn no lease just two climbers and two guns.

My son and me killed 2 limits of squirrels opening day, we had a blast to say the least. I made a huge pot of gumbo and gave most of it away to friends, everyone loved it. 16 squirrels makes alot of gumbo.

What kind of sausage to you put in your gumbo?
I found my first scrape of the year 9/15/08 in western Rapides Parish it is area 2. The buck threw pine straw about six feet. Can't wait till October 1st. Dosn't this seem kind of early?

My son Stephen caught this bull red on cracked crab it took about 25 minutes to land. We took a few pictures and released the giant. It was over the Labor day weekend.

This is my sons first buck, he is 16 and we have been hunting since he was 8 or so. We found this spot in kisatchie three years ago and we always see deer there. Killed this doe with my smoke pole yesterday evening. The deer was standing in my corn when I walked up on her,she never saw me. Will give me some meat for the freezer.

I caught this 21" red and lots more on a trip to the cameron jetties July 21st. My two brothers and my son caught a mixed bag of 31 reds, specks and flounder. We had a great time and can't wait to go back.
