Arrived at the Rigolets Marina around 545am to find no live bait and a full parking lot. Headed to the trestles and the fish werent biting.Got a call that the marina had a few live shrimp arriving so headed back in to get some. Got a real late start fishing on the trestles Saturday , paid to much attention to the weatherman instead of just getting out there and fishing. picked up seven in about a hour and called it a day.
Tried to fish a little bit on Sunday. Wind was crazy and water was rough and muddy.Tried to make it out to the trestles but was a little to rough for the wifes liking. Stuck around the marshes and picked up a few trout , one red,a dozen or more rat reds, and dad caught one huge catfish. Had a lot better days fishing but it was a blast watching my wife pull in her first redfish.
Very windy and rough day.Matrix Shad Shrimp Creole slow retrieve and live minnows behind a cork was how they wanted it.Ended up with a few and even sorer backs from the beating we took on the way back in. Still beats working.
Had to work hard to get a few in the box , but still had a blast. Caught most with minnows behind a rattling cork and a few with Green Hornet Matrix Shad with a slow retrieve.
Wanting to plan a Saturday trip.....anybody found any clean water in the area yet? what about the Lake. Been hitting Golden Meadow and Dularge lately , but ready to get back closer to home.
The morning started out beautiful , little wind and warmer then what was predicted. Then around 10am the weatherman redeemed himself.COLD and WINDY and the bite shut off. Got back to the dock with 2 reds, 2 sheephead, and one trout.Still had fun.
got a late start Saturday , figured it would be to muddy and it was.A 'few' being caught about 8 miles out from the northshore and some being caught trolling, nothing to write home about for sure.
