Me and my friends are thinking about heading to the new fishing pier in slidell (for the first time) for some reds, drums, sheepsheads, and trout this saturday. Has anyone ever gone out there? How's the fishing? Is it over crowded on Saturdays?

Hey I was wondering does the start of a cold front bother the fish to where they wouldn't bite too much for a day or two? I've heard this from other fishermen that the frequent change of temperature could cause the fish to not be as active. Sorry for the wait guys I been really busy at work, but all your info PAID OFF! Me and my buddy went down to Golden Meadow and fished to the right of that pumping station and caught about 35 but had to throw about 20 back, came out with only 12 keepers including two massive drums (it looks like a drum to me at least) The crazy part is that as soon as I got that big sucker on the bank, my buddy.... Does anybody know how the specks and reds are biting in the Golden Meadow area? My cousin told me about a spot where I can fish off the bank. He said its around a park in that area. Also I was thinking about going to Island Road near Houma this wednesday (since I'm finally off from work). Is the water level ok? What are they biting on?

Nah i never tried it b4 I've heard of it Just never did....
I just moved to Baton Rouge and I dont have a boat so I'm looking for some good spots where I can catch some sacs, bream, choupic, or catfish off the bank. Preferably within an hour away from the College Dr. exit. Any info would help...
