Which launch is best suited for handicap access?

Here is my dilemma. I'm still recovering from neck surgery I had in February so I'm limited on how much I can do. My fishing buddies are my 82yr old father and my 5yr old son. My dad has very limited use of his legs and in the past I was able to lift him into the boat. Now while I'm still recovering I can't lift him in....  Read More

Here is a question for everyone.

What tools, parts or other essentials do you keep in your boat in case of a break down or emergency?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I have to think the end is near. That is the end of quality reports on this site! We have seen to many reports by captains and recreational fishermen who are proud of their catch and are happy to share how, where and with what made their trip successful. I know I can't name them all but the likes of Rucker, Nightfisher, Dockside, Absolute, Capt. Kim, Catchdat and so many more have posted quality....  Read More

Just want to take a little survey.

For trout do you think jigheads should match the plastics or contrast or plain lead because it doesn't matter?

Let see what the majority thinks!

Anybody driving between LaPlace and Gonzales be careful! Went to cabelas around 6 and headed back around 8. I have never seen so many deer feeding on both sides of the road in my life! My kids lost count at 62!!!! I guess the high water is driving them out. Was some nice bucks mixed in. Also saw a few busted up on the shoulder of the road.

Here is a question for everyone.
What's your preference on jig heads used for trout and reds.

Do you prefer round or another type?
Plain or painted to match your plastics or a contrast?
Eyes or none?

Just want to see what is used most. Don't really care what brand just the style.

Thanks!

I would like to get a few opinions from my fellow sportsman! I bought a 18' w/t aluminum with a 115 new in May. I'm thinking of upgrading to something bigger and an actual bay boat. Don't get me wrong I love my boat but bigger is always better right????

So here are my questions:

Brand- I was thinking blue wave or nauticstar.

Length- was thinking 22'

Motor- 200 or bigger?

Usually I'm not one to spread rumors but if this is true congratulations are in order.

Heard that there is a new Captain in town. CAPTAIN Scott Walker aka Nightfisher!!! If its true I want to be one of the first to congratulate you on all your hard work!!! I have a feeling the trout are in big trouble! Once your all set I would like to be one of your first customers also!!!!

Congrats!!!!!

JLS - I know you take alot of grief on this site and I've given it to you myself. I know you are always looking for spots. I have decided to give you my honey hole. I'll probably get blasted for this but here are the coordinates. 29* 57' 01'.44n 90* 03' 46'.74w.

This spot is unbelievable. It's near the bridges. You have to get there early because it can get packed. Sometimes they are so thick....  Read More

I would like to take a minute to remind people to use common sense! If you are pulling a boat especially a heavy boat you will need extra stopping distance! So with that being said , I would like to thank the jack leg who used the back of my truck to help him stop. Thank you for putting me on the shelf during some great times to fish. Thanks for screwing up my new truck. And you should be very....  Read More

Here is a question for the captains or anyone who has been in the same situation. When you have clients that aren't experienced do you go live bait or artificials? I have some Yankee friends in town and they want to fish. I mainly use artificials but I'm not sure if I should get live shrimp for them. I'm sure their reaction time will be slow and I don't know if I want to spend all day baiting....  Read More

Launched at BSM yesterday. Found very low and dirty water conditions. Managed 22 trout and I flatty. All caught in Gulp! and tiger bait matrix shad.

Got checked by the game warden. He was very professional, polite and courteous. He told me most he had checked were having hard time filling the box. (Wanted to add this because these guys get a bad reputation)

Glad I put the push pole in the....  Read More

Looking for a few opinions. I have always used braid on my spinning reals and mono on my bait casters. I was thinking of trying braid on my bait casters but have heard it could become a nightmare. The reason I want to try is when I'm tossing a $7 mirrolure or some of the newly acquired kick a mullets at $13 a whack losing lures could get costly.......

Opinions and advice appreciated.

This might be a stupid question but...... I'm an avid fisherman and deer hunter but have never hunted ducks. My question is with the duck season approaching what areas around hopedale should I avoid? I don't want to be fishing and mess someone's hunt up. Also what is a good sign that someone is hunting an area besides a bunch of decoys? I plan on using the binoculars from a distance to avoid any....  Read More
