We fish Venice and Dularge a few times a year, travel distance limits us to just a few trips. We have always fished the full moon in May and been successful. Report is a little late, but I have been busy prepping shrimp and fish for freezer. Had a great three day trip to Venice Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. We fished east of river with live shrimp and artificials. Live shrimp was much more effective, but largest fish was caught on a blue and chrome top dog. Fish were in the canals where side canals crossed or entered. Fish bit about equally well on white beetle under cork or curly tail chartreuse grub on bottom. Fish seemed to be in edge of currnt lines that looked slick on top.

Seven Arkansas bass fishermen had a blast in Venice Thursday,Friday and Saturday. Myself and six friends fished out of Cocodrie Fri. and Sat. We had two boats and one boat fished east of Montegut and caught limits of reds each day. Can't be more specific on location because I'm not sure they knew where they were. Fished broken grass areas in marsh with most fish caught on gold spoons in duck ponds.
