One of them was this fairly large silver/gray fish that I wasn't clear what species it was. I would guess it was about 6-7 lbs and maybe 12-14 in. long. Any ideas on what this thing is?
I live in south Baton Rouge and am desperate for some spots to throw my line out. I have no boat and only get to go fishing for a few hours on Monday mornings.

I'm looking to do some bank fishing on Monday in and/or around Baton Rouge. I'm new to fishing in the area so I'm looking for advice on where to go. I've heard Ramah and the Amite River could be good options. Any suggestions? Where is the best place to do some bass fishing without a boat within a 30 minute drive of Baton Rouge?
