If I am squirrel hunting on 3 Rivers when it is not firearm season with a shotgun, what is the largest size shell that I can have on me? There are a lot of hogs in the area I plan on hunting and I'd hate to try to kill one with squirrel shot. I looked in the hunting regulations but I can't find any specifics about it.
Launched out of Dockside yesterday morning to go run the boat before gun season starts. Had a little engine issues early into the trip. After that was solved headed to the Rigolets train bridge and busted off a few times on larger fish. Then we headed to the hwy 11 bridge. Caught a few Sheepshead and Black Drum with shrimp on the bottom carolina rigged. Several throwbacks but they were fun to.... Read More

Fished Grand Isle Wednesday and Thursday and the conditions were great, little to no wind and nearly flat seas with good tide movement.

A buddy and I put in in Fourchon and fished the barges in the surf. We caught a few on topwaters and mirr-o-lures early and then switched to cocahoes on the bottom. Caught a variety of fish from trout, bluefish, spanish mackerel, hardheads and.... Read More
Forgot to post some pictures from a few weeks back. We make a little turkey hunt in the Homochitto, ended up with a decent bird, 9 inch beard and 1 inch spurs, 19 lbs. After the hunt we decided to go try and catch a few fish on my hunting lease. Killed the sac-a-lait, left them biting. We came back the next day and did the same with the catfish.
Has anyone of you ever used the LED boat plug light before or know anyone that has? Do they really work? If so what is the best color? I've seen them in white, blue and green.
Walking out of the camp at 5:45 am I could tell it was going to be a good morning. There was a light frost on the ground and the fog was thick. I met up with Eric and we made our way to the property. With the fog as thick as it was, I knew the deer would stay in the fields a little longer than usual and it would also help to slip into the box stand easier without being detected. As soon as we.... Well the hogs have just about ran the deer out of one section of woods where I had been getting some decent bucks on camera. They would eat an entire sack of rice bran in one sitting. The only thing I could think of was to buy a trap and try and knock the population down a few. So I bought a trap the other day, went up to my camp yesterday, set it up and emptied a sack of bran right on the trip.... Read More
Made a little hunt in EBR the other day to brake my new bow in. We had a ground blind set up near a bedding area, and the wind was perfect. I slipped in there Wednesday afternoon and took this 115 lb doe quartering away at 15 yards. The 2 blade rage broadhead did its job as always and she only ran about 25 yards. Good luck out there guys.
